Fast Food Workers

People working fast food need to understand, it is a training program. If you can not make a burger right the first time, how are you supposed to build a refinery, road, dam, power lines, computer network… right the first time?

How many companies would tolerant a welder using the wrong welding rod several times a day? You welded that part wrong, cut the weld out and use this welding rod. Only for the person to weld it wrong again.

Or a chemical plant – “You ordered the wrong type of pipe, that is the 10th time this week.” You installed the wrong part, there is no way it ca hold the pressure, do it again. Only for the person to do it wrong, again.

To Love And To Lose

Dogs walking in a creek

The pain of losing my new puppy Buckshot reminds me of how bad it hurts to lose something you love. My heart has been broken for two days, and I suspect the pain will last for months, maybe even years.

Buckshot came to the house looking for someone to love him. All he wanted was for someone to play with him and love him. He did not suffer and passed away within just a few seconds after being ran over.

The person who said it was better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved, was an idiot. The pain builds up over the years. Sorrow, pain and regret fills our memories, or at least mine anyway.

One of my Dogs Passed Away

Pet dog Buckshot

It is with deep regret that I have to make this post. The newest dog to the pack, a four month old puppy by the name of Buckshot, ran in front of a truck, was ran over and died on August 4th, 2017.

There is a private dirt road that goes through the farm that my cousins use to access their home. It was on that road, Buckshot ran in front of my cousins truck and was ran over. He did not suffer and passed away just a few seconds after the accident.

Several months ago one of my cousins brought Buckshot home for her mother, my aunt. My aunt, being an older lady may have had difficulties taking care of the puppy. It seemed like every day Buckshot was at my house to play with my dogs and look for food. I put a feed bowl on the front porch and would make sure the puppy had plenty of food.

Random Thoughts May 21 2017

There is so much going on I do not know where to start.

Cabin

On the back side of the property there a cabin I am thinking about making it into an off the grid bug out location for friends and family. The cabin was built in the mid-1970s and would have to be totally gutted and re-wired. the good thing, it has a metal roof and metal siding. It has five rooms – living room, kitchen, spare, bedroom and bathroom. The spare room is just a room that can have a table, or bunkbeds.

Paneling in the bedroom would have to be torn out and replaced. Might go with some 3/8 inch plywood.

The cabin has a suspended ceiling and almost no insulation. All of the ceiling tiles would have to be torn out and probably replaced with 3/8 plywood as well.

A shed would need to built for storage and for the water well to go in. The well right now is in a 3 feet X 4 feet covered area. The shed would be 12 feet X 16 feet. That is an easy three sheets of plywood wide and two sheets long.

I am thinking of solar cells on the shed along with the batteries.

All of this takes money though.

Democrats Are Undermining The Republic

Kevin Felts, blogger and political commentator

In the United States of America, we are supposed to have a peaceful transfer of power from one political party to another. That “peaceful transfer of power” is being undermined by liberal democrat controlled major media.

No President in history has faced as much backlash as President Trump.

From the very second after the election results, Democrats were crying foul. They refused to accept that Donald Trump was elected President and are doing everything they can to either undermine his term or remove him from office.

When Obama was in office, the GOP fought him on certain issues, and sometimes congress ground to a stand still, but the current events after the election are much worse than anything obama ever faced.

My honest opinion, the leaks and impeachment has nothing to do with Trump, but rather Democrats regaining control of the White House. Liberal Democrats are pushing an agenda. Anyone who stands in the way of that agenda is the enemy.

Venezuela Suspended Gun Rights for 180 Days

Kevin Felts political commentator

This is what happens when the government controls firearms. There is a lot to learn from Venezuela. Some people may say “That could never happen here”, sure it can. The government can suspend civil rights under certain situation. The United States Supreme Court upheld Executive Order 9066, which was signed by Franklin Roosevelt and detained thousands of Japanese-Americans during World War II. The law has yet to be repealed.

What I worry about, is groups like antifa causing enough civil unrest that basic civil liberties are suspended.

With the outrage with Trump being elected President, what would happen if he is reelected?

Why Is There So Much Hate For Religion

On February 27, 2017 someone on a facebook page posted a picture of a bible being urinated on. The guy said he was tired of seeing bibles in hotel rooms.

I posted a comment that the guy should be banned from the group. A young lady replied to my comment claiming the the Bible was a myth and Jesus never existed. She went on to give various examples of why the Bible was not to be believed.

Whether someone does or does not believe in th Bible, GOD or Jesus, is not the issue.

The question I have, why is there so much anger directed towards a person who only taught love and good works? Jesus taught us to love one another, and people hate him of it.

Why?

Where Do You Find Your Happiness

Kevin Felts political commentator

Happiness, what is it, where does it come from and where can it be found? I turned 49 years old in 2017. As I look back there have been various times when I was happy. I can look back at the 1990s and think of times when I was happy, and a lot of times when I was not happy.

There have been times when I was very happy with a job. Such as when I worked at various welding shops in Southeast Texas. Some of them were good to work for, some were terrible.

The worst kind of happiness is that which depends upon others.

We are social creatures. As such, we in part draw happiness from being with others. We have relationships, friends, get married, have children, all of which depends on other people cooperating. When they do not cooperate, our happiness is destroyed. Such as a friend who tries to steal your wife, or a wife who cheats.

Fire Alarm, Young Men and Respect

Kevin Felts, blogger and political commentator

My fiancee and I Went to see Rogue One at Tinseltown in Beaumont. Towards the end of the movie the fire alarm went off. A lady came over the speaker system and said a fire alarm had gone off and asked everyone to exit the building.

People got up and started exiting through the fire exit. When my fiancee and I reached the exit I looked back and realized there were a number of older couples waiting on everyone to leave so they could make their way down.

What Trump Means To Preppers

Kevin Felts blogger and political commentator

What does the election of Donald Trump mean to preppers? It means there is a lot of good stuff in the future.

End free trade and bring our jobs back from China.

Let China know we will no longer bow to them.

Restore relations with Russia.

Restore good relations with Britain. President obama made some disparaging comments after Britain left the EU.

Bomb ISIS back to the stone age. Even if you feel ISIS is no threat to the United States, they are a threat to stability in the middle east and they are a human rights issue.

ISIS is killing innocent civilians. Their actions have caused hundreds of thousands to flee the middle east. Destroy ISIS so families can return to their homes.

Trip to the 2016 Texas Renaissance Festival

Parade at the Texas Renaissance Festival

My fiancée (Samantha) and I went to the 2016 Texas Renaissance Festival Saturday, November 19th and we had a great time. The weather was perfect. A cold front had blown through on Friday, which dropped daytime highs to the mid 60s. Skies were clear and beautiful.

Samantha and I woke up around 6:00 am. I got my shower, got dressed, and we headed out around 7:00. On the way out we stopped at the Donut Palace on Hwy 190 in Jasper Texas. When I was working on a tugboat, this was the same donut shop I would stop at on the way to work. The Donut Palace is ran by a friendly Asian couple. I got a sausage, egg and cheese croissant, blue monster and chocolate glazed donut. Samantha got a bag of donut holes.

We headed west on Hwy 190, which took us through Woodville Texas and into Livingston Texas. At Livingston, we turn south on Hwy 59 south until we reached Cleveland. At Cleveland we turned west on Hwy 105. Hwy 105 took us through Cut-n-Shoot, Conroe, Montgomery, and finally to the Plantersville exit, which is 1774.

Arriving at the Festival

Election, Life, Millennials, Democrats and the 2016 Elections

Kevin Felts political commentator

I want to do a video blog (vblog) about the elections, life and millennials. There has been a lot of stuff going on in the United States and worldwide, that will be felt for generations. If Trump holds true to even part of his promises the United States poses to be a world leader. And not only a world leader, but to work with other world leaders to create a bright future for everyone.

The liberal agenda of open borders and free trade has to end. The liberal agenda of safe haven cities for illegal immigrants has to end. It will be interesting to see what happens when safe haven cities defy President Trump.

2016 election

The democrat party platform, as they have always been, is built on fear.

1860s – 1960s, democrats played on the fears of minorities. See those minorities over there, they want to hurt you.

1960s – present day, democrats have demonized the conservative white male. See that white man, he is oppressing all minorities.

Race Had Nothing To Do With Trump Winning

The race baiters are at it again. This time they are callign the election of Donald Trump a, “Whitelash.” As in whites are lashing out at the United States having a black president.

Honest truth, the middle class is tired of business as usual. We are tired of out jobs being sent to China. China surpassed the United States as the worlds largest trading partner.

Donald Trump won the election based on President Obamas failed policies and the fear mongering done by Hillary Clinton. President Obama promised hope and change, and all we got was mandated health insurance. Rather than working with both parties, President Obama tried to rule by exectuive order, and people are tired of it.

Random Thoughts October 26 2016 and Life Changes

Old axe head found near a creek

When this article is being written, I am 48 years old, and getting close to turning 49. Life has not gone anywhere near like what I wanted. A large part of that is my own fault. When I graduated high school I went into the work force rather than joining the military or going to college. The older I get the more I regret those decisions.

At 17 and 18 years old I wanted to join the army and try out for special forces. Some may call that a pipe dream, while others call it silly. I call it having a dream. Par of life should be following your dreams. Rather than joining the army I got married and had children.

The other things I wanted to do, and have wanted to do all of my life is archeology and anthropology.

July 3rd of 2016 I quit my job on a tugboat. I got tired of working 100 hours a week, and I got tired of hearing grown men whine and complain. Working on a tugboat is like working around a bunch of high school teenage girls. Backstabbing, gossiping, always worried about what other people think,,, life on a tugboat was downright bad.

Love Respect and Dignity For Trees

Pin oak tree cut up for firewood

A couple of months ago a couple of oak trees fell on the back of the property. At first I was going to do a video and article about stockpiling firewood. As the project progressed, I came to the realization that the trees were symbolic of what the world needed most – love, respect and dignity.

If people would show everyone around them, everything, and the world itself those things things, everything would be better off. Our lives would be better, the world would be a better place, our families would be better, our children would be better,,, everything would be better.

The tree I was working on in the video is a water oak (Quercus nigra), also called a pin oak. The other tree that fell is a live oak. The live oak has a bunch of intertwined limbs that is going to make it rather difficult to cut up. The pin oak has a nice straight trunk with just about all of the limbs at the top. Since the pin oak is going to be easier to cut up I started with it.

Both trees fell across a washed out area next to a creek. The tree top was on the bank of the creek, while the root ball was on another bank. A Stihl MS310 was used to cut off the top and cut up the trunk. The bank was too steep to carry the logs up to the truck, so a tractor and rope was used to pull the logs up the bank.
