since the majority of famous maker knives are made in China, excluding some of their high end knives, which come at a steep price, this Schrade is a great knife at a reasonable price. most of Shrades current offerings are indeed made in China, as is this Kukri style machete, but this one caught my attention, when i first held one at a local knife and gun show. i was impressed with its heft and thick blade. the grip is rubber, and a soft, grippable rubber at that, that fits snugly in the hand. it feels secure and stable, unlike harder surfaced handles. the blade is sharp, but typical of Chinese blades, can be brought to a fine edge with a few swipes of your preferred sharpener. the sheath is of nice quality, design, and functionality. nothing fancy here. this thing, in the hand, feels like it can take down a small tree, which if you watch a video or two on youtube, it does just that, and rather adeptly. overall, it may not be the greatest Kukri ever forged, but it just may be the heaviest. add a fine edge to that heft, and you'd be hard pressed to beat it for under $100.
Heavy as a tank, 6 mm thick and if it wasn't sharp it would still lop a hand off in a second. This knife is full tang titanium coated, sharp out the box and ready to take as much punishment as you can dish out. Great bushcraft knife for heavy chopping, splitting firewood or anything else you want to throw at it. The sheath is unlike any I have seen before, they actually spent some bucks on making a high quality sheath. It has a strap so you can where it over your shoulder like a pack. Good thing they did because it would pull your pants and tightly whities down if you try to belt it. I don't believe you could find a better knife in this price range. I'm very please with it. Not to mention a great zombie ended if the event ever accurs. Haha
