This is the first review I’ve ever left after being an Amazon customer for years. People... this is the best $29 I’ve ever spent. I live in Florida (read hotter than the depths of hell), and this cooler has kept ice going on 5 days in 80-90 heat. I haven’t added extra ice. I’m just floored to be honest...My sister-in-law just bought an brand new Artic cooler and on our recent camping trip, she needed to add ice to hers after 24 hours. My cooler is still going strong.Seriously, if you had any doubts, don’t. Go get yourself one... you won’t be sorry!
Bang for buck this thing is totally worth it. If you want it to work best keep it inside, in the AC, for a day before you use it, and for best results put a bag of ice in it for 24 hours before hand so that it's already nice and cool. You can easily keep ice for 5 days if it is already cooled down.

I guess I didn’t pay close enough attention to the dimensions because this is much larger than I expected. I make my lunches at night so I can leave for work quickly and quietly in the morning. If you check out my picture, it would never fit in a normal fridge unless you don’t have much food and can keep a shelf clear for this (which I definitely can’t). Giving it five stars because I’m probably keeping it for weekend use with the family. But I’m buying the smaller 9 can version for my lunchbox. I’ll pack my lunch into the removable liner each night and put that plastic tub into the fridge. Just grab that and drop it into the insulated bag in the morning and I’ll be good for the day.
Used this bag on a 5,000 miles cross country ride.Pros:1. It was easy to secure to my bike and easy to access the contents while riding (had it on the passenger seat).2. The inner plastic liner was a good design and keep the cooler in the proper shape.3. I loved that little zippered pouch. Being I was on a motorcycle, every storage space is welcomed.Cons:Only problem is it did not do a good job of keeping the contents cold. I would fill it with ice in the morning before starting the ride in the mornings. Ice would be melted by noon. My drinks were not cold by were cool and for that it gets an okay rating.

Ordered two of these, recieved a lower quality product. I returned them and they sent the same thing back. Pictures do not match what arrived. Latch and hindges are lower quality.
he marine cooler is a good unit, just not through this ordering. Like other reviews, it turned out what i got was the NON marine version with the marine label. Even the label shows a different product. i am returning it and will see what Amazon will do to correct this problem with Coleman switching products. it is easy to tell the products are not the same: the label, lid cable, construction, and handles match the non Marine version, NOT the one displayed in this product.

Bought it to make clear ice, works great
I was a little apprehensive about ordering this -but for $9.99 it wasn't going to break me if it didn't suit my needs. (Keeping my waters & snacks cold during the day as I travel from place to place for work ) Very happy with this -yes , its small ,but it's perfect and holds just enough .It's big enough to hold 6 Perrier slims , a regular size soda and still had room for a baggies of fruit , and an ice pack. I've included pics for reference.

After owning this for a little over a month, both zipper tags has broken off. and it will not stay in the locked position it keeps trying to collapse on me. If I wasn't out of the return window I would have returned it.Update! Clevermade contacted me after my 1st review. They sent me another cooler 1st one was apparently defective as the new cooler they sent me is much better so far after 2 weeks of use no problems.
Love this! Sturdy and well-made. Perfect for my weekly food shopping runs, which can take me 2 hours or more going to several different stores. Keeps everything cool until I get home. I used to use hard cooler for this but it took up so much space in my trunk, I had to remove it when not in use, and I often forgot to put it back in before I went shopping. This collapses flat and takes no room at all, so I will always have it in the car with me! Highly recommend!!!!!

User reviews

For what you pay and what you get with this cooler, it is of EXCELLENT value. I did what everyone else probably did...looked at the Yeti's and dreamed...and drooled. Then got a brisk slap across the face from my wife when she thought I might actually pay $600 ON A COOLER. Those Yeti's may be amazing but those prices are just absurd and cannot be justified by anyone who isn't literally a mountain man or a hunter who needs ice not to freeze for 10 days. Most of us normal guys who go weekend camping, don't fall into either of those categories, and so we turn our Yeti search into a "what cooler is also awesome but doesn't cost me my first born child" search.I've only ever owned Coleman and Igloo coolers and so that search began with those two. When I was underwhelmed with what Igloo had out there, I made the switch to Coleman and was immediately impressed by this cooler. My search criteria where as follows;Metal hinges (had an old Igloo with plastic hinges finally blow out on me, granted it was a 30yr old cooler so props to Igloo)Metal handlesSolid handle and/or locking mechanismHard lined and o-ring sealedThe Coleman Steel-Belted Cooler fit all of these criteria and was available for the modest price of $80. I deemed the 54 quart to be of substantial size based on the "can capacity" that is listed in the description. I love that Coleman knows their customers and knows we will want to know how many beer...I mean soda cans, that the cooler can fit.Trust me folks, I've beaten this thing up to heck and back on my camp trips and it has performed admirably. It can take a hit and keep on going, washed of easily with a hose, the hard lining wipes out quickly with a paper towel and it kept my ice frozen for 2 days straight. Also is a sturdy seat option for when your idiot cousin steals your chair at the campfire.
Two packs of block ice lasted for 7 days until it was completely gone. Drained the cooler once per day. Mix of being in the car and outside in temps from 50-70. Fantastic cooler. Great alternative to the Yeti if you want a good camping cooler.Pro tip: Buy two blocks of ice, put them in a cooler. Next line the inside of the cooler with a black garbage bag. Now, line it with a second one. The ice should be sitting below the garbage bags (outside of them). Place your food inside the garbage bags. That will keep your food from getting wet. You will need to change the garbage bags after 3 days or so due to condensation from the food packaging and what not. But the melting ice will not get the food wet.

This is an awesome little cooler, it is worth it's weight in gold! I purchased this cooler for a family vacation. We intended to fill it with frozen meat and a few other food items to take with us, and place it in our checked luggage. Well, long story short: delayed flights, missed connecting flights, and lost luggage, When we finally received our luggage the next day (40 hours after packing frozen items in this cooler), everything was still frozen. Granted it was cold while on the airplane, but who knows where our suitcases were stored and temperature of that area. We also used this cooler to take drinks and snacks to the beach, when packed with ice packs or frozen water bottles our drinks stayed cold all day in 90+ degree weather. I highly recommend this cooler, it is the perfect size and really keeps thing cold for a long time!
I purchased this cooler to take to a NASCAR race. For my fellow motorheads, it met the criteria for entering the grandstands at RIR. For everybody else, this is a solid cooler for 2-3 people. I was able to fit 6 cans, 4 bottles of water, ranch dressing in a small container, baby carrots, two packs of sliced cheese, and deli turkey in this cooler with ice on top of it all. The cooler really kept the ice cold. After about 7 hours in the southern April afternoon/evening there was still ice remaining in the bottom and the food was clearly still chilled. While the 24 hour claim is probably based on there being ANY ice after that time, I had enough ice when I got back to the car that I dumped it into a decent pile without more than 0.75 to an inch of water (having started with a half bag). The strap did not dig into my shoulder during a half mile walk fully loaded. The top has about another inch of clearance from zipper to top, which really helps pack in some extra ice. No problems with leaks after 4 months of use.My only gripe, and this is completely subjective and personal, is the flap in the top. It is well secured with Velcro all the way around. I just don't see how small constant air entry/escape is better than opening the zipper, removing a beverage, and closing it. Perhaps science says that is better for keeping the cool in and heat out, but I see it more a convenience. So, FWIW I don't like the flap.Anyways, for a soft-sided, portable cooler you really cant do worse than this one for camping, boat outings, NASCAR, sporting events, etc.

Description says it has wheels, does not come with wheels. False advertising? How has no one mentioend this?
It's a simple cooler that stands taller than others, and looks good too. It's not like a Yeti with the thick insulated walls that end up leaving you with minimal room inside. This cooler is like an empty box inside! Lot's of room and sturdy. Cup holders on top are nice and fit the Yeti insulated type cups. I bought this because I have an older direct drive ski boat with the engine in the middle, and this cooler fits perfectly along side the motor, behind the driver's seat.

Good cooler for our family's use. Kept beverages cold for 2 days. Wheels nice feature, but still heavy to pull when cooler full. Only complaint is handle too long to pull cooler comfortably w/o dragging front end--need shorter arms. Used carry handle but that is too close to cooler so awkward...need longer arms....
Bought this cooler for salmon fishing. Ice in the cooler can be kept for 4 days. I like it.

User reviews

My husband and I were using a larger, softer insulated bag to keep food cold when traveling, but we eventually realized that it didn't work very well. Even with ice packs, our food and beverages would only stay cool for a short period of time. This lead me to do some reading about the efficacy of various types of coolers, which confirmed that the soft padded insulated bags are certainly better than nothing, but don't function as a true cooler because the insulation is inferior. My research led me to decide on this compact Coleman cooler. Since we periodically take day and multi-day trips, having a way to keep food and medicine insulated and cool in the back of a car is important. I find that this cooler is the perfect size for a few sandwiches and some fresh fruit or other snacks. Not too big, not too small. If you are going on a picnic or a long car ride, it's the perfect size for a few meals for one or two people. We've found this cooler to be extremely efficient at keeping food colder for much longer than our previous insulated bags. The lid sort of snaps into place and doesn't open easily (you really need to use both hands) to prevent an accidental opening. I really like this.I also happily discovered that three rectangular solid freeze packs fit perfectly in the bottom, creating a shelf on which the food and drinks can rest.I'm including some pics with things inside (half gallon of milk and 2 soda cans) to help gauge the size; sometimes it's difficult to understand how much room there really is just from measurements. If you have any questions, I'm happy to help. If you found this review helpful, consider leaving me feedback.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I am very annoyed with this cooler. It has the perfect size but the lid just won’t open! Even my husband struggles to open it and I don’t have two empty hands and two minutes every single time I want to open the cooler. Very frustrating.

I researched just about every ice chest out there. I got caught up in the yeti trend. I even looked at products similar to Yeti. Then I remembered my childhood. Simple ice chests were involved in all the wonderful memories I have. I recently took this ice chest fishing in 85 degree temps. I put one small bag of ice in it with some cold drinks and had cold beverages all day for my friends and I. Did it matter if it stayed cold for 5-7 days? For me no. When I got home, I dumped out some water and about half a bag of ice. If you’re a hunter, and you need to drive a thousand miles with what you’ve killed on ice, and you can’t stop to freshen up the ice when you get fuel, then yeah, buy an ice chest that costs five times as much. I’m not Walt Disney, so I don’t worry about cryogenically freezing my cold drinks. This ice chest is solid, and for about a month, it out performs what I expect. I price shopped local box stores and the price I got this at beat the prices of the competition. I had shipping issues in the past, but amazon made it right. Plenty of people love the black finish too.
The solid ice lasted about 3 days. It still had icy water for my water and soda though. Everybody told me I would need to spend money on a Yeti if I wanted to have ice for 4 days, but for way less, this did great.
