I received the BLUETTI AC200P a few days ago, 4/20/2021 with 3 BLUETTI SP200 200w solar panels. So far so good. The highest I seen on charge wattage is 480w with the 3 panels. Being in south Louisiana, I will need to try to get a lower angle than the 45 degrees that the kickstand gives you.Easily ran my TV, satellite receiver, CPAP and charged my iPhone Apple Watch and e-cigarettes overnight. Ran down to about 30%. Pointing my panels southeast to catch the morning sun, battery was back to 100% by 10:30 am.The reason I ordered this, is mainly backup power. Last year we were hit by 2 hurricanes in a month. I was without power for around 18 days. (Used around 300 gallons of gasoline). This year we had rolling blackouts with the winter weather. This thing will come in handy. During a hurricane there is no way to run a generator with 140mph winds. Can’t put it on the back patio it would blow away, plus the driving ran. Can’t run it in the garage because of carbon monoxide. Besides my garage door blew in anyway. With this bluetti I will be able to run my tv and satellite receiver to be able to get weather updates. ( at least until your satellite dish blows away which mine did). So, have a backup antenna to get local news. Also be able to run my refrigerator until the the storm passes and able to pull out the generator. I am going to use it to supplement my generator. Where hopefully I won’t have to run it 24 hours a day. If you ever have to tend 8500watt Portable generator 24/7 it’s a lot of work. Fueling it up, changing oil every few days. (Well, if you want it to last any amount of time, many generator were burned up because no maintenance. It will be handy during short blackouts. Wouldn’t have to pull out the generator.I am also a amateur radio operator. I ordered the 12v/25amp plug to run my radios. I will try to remember to give a update when I get this going.Update: 5/4/2021Well, this is very disappointing. Got home today from work and was going to charge my phone and portable charger and the unit would not turn on. Contacted the seller through Amazon. Haven’t decided if I will just ask for a refund or a exchange. That’s a lot of money spent for something that stops working in 2 weeks. Will update this review when I hear from the seller. Like I said very disappointedUpdate 5/11/2021After Troubleshooting with the help of Maxoak service department it was determined I needed a replacement. I sent it back on 5/7/2012. Maxoak Customer service was more than helpful. No problem to exchange. They sent me a FedEx return mail label making it painless to return. As of now, I am waiting on my replacement AC200P. I will put it through it paces when I receive it and give a update.
Out of the box everything was packaged securely. Not a lot of little pieces to get lost or broken. The instruction manual lost a little bit in translation which left me a little concerned about the quality of the product. After a slight issue with the LCD screen, Jojo from Max Oak relayed my concern to the tech crew which recommended that I needed to run my fingernail around the LCD screen which fixed the issue without me having to return the item. I am overwhelmingly impressed with this product and Jojo and his team provided excellent customer service. I am ready to build my off-grid cabin and this power station runs all of my tools and I couldn't be happier. Being able to charge the panels while using the stored energy is a big plus. Thanks again!

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I was skeptical about buying this brand since I have a Honda 2200 inverter as well that I really like, but I needed a 2nd one and Honda is double the price as this one. This does come with oil and a funnel for putting the oil in the motor since it is shipped dry. One thing to keep in mind that the overload light comes on for about a minute when you first start it which is normal operation. I bought this as insurance when if the power goes out since we get a lot of storms here and I live out in a rural area. DO NOT RUN ETHANOL GAS in this or any small engine!Lots of reviews on generators in general of sitting with gas and not starting weeks later. Ethanol gas gums up the carburetor if it sits too long. I run non-ethanol premium gas in all my equipment.Because of the amount power of startup on appliances, this would run one big freezer or a big frig, or a small chest freezer and a frig. Mine I run a big freezer, some led lights, router and a laptop. The 2nd Honda 2200 watt I run another small freezer and a big frig. It is actually cheaper to buy 2 of these then a 4,000 watt inverter generator. I have one that runs the upstairs and the 2nd one runs out of the walkout basement.I love how quiet it is and eco switch which runs at a lower power.
I have to say, I never right reviews, however with this purchase I found it a must. Like most of us, when I decided to purchase a generator, I started my online research. Everything about this one looked perfect, with the exception of the low volume of reviews. Let me tell you I really love this inverter generator. It was easy to fuel up and start with 1 pull. During my test run I was able to plug in 1 running shop vac, 1 running standard refrigerator, 1 toaster oven, 1 fan, 1 lamp, & 1 laptop. This generator was able to run all items at once, but could hear it get a bit louder when I turned on the shop vac with all other items plugged in. The light indicating a heavier load came on at this time as well to indicate nearing maximum load. Even so, the noise level was extremely quiet. I like the switch which gives an option idle the unit down even further than normal when the load requirement is low. I did purchase the generator 30 amp 125 volt (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008DIZYJS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) extension cord which will convert the 30-amp locking outlet to three 15-amp household outlets. This will allow you to get the maximum output of any generator since the full load cannot come from just the 2 standard 15 amp outlets on the generator. The unit is very easy to maneuver since it is light weight and there is a handle. I love the fact that I can plug my laptop or phone into it without worrying about an influx of power coming through which will fry sensitive electronics. Hence why inverter generators are pretty awesome.Quick lesson on inverter generator technology is that it "works by producing the standard output AC current like most traditional generators, but that current is then converted to DC, and then “inverted” back to clean AC power that maintains a single phase, pure sine wave at the required voltage and frequency. The result is much “cleaner” power (“pure sine waves”) than is possible with a conventional generator, essentially the same quality of electricity that you typically get from your electric company. Why is this important? Well, more and more products today use some form of microprocessor. Not just your computer, but also your phones, TVs, game consoles, printers, DVD players, and even kitchen appliances and power tools. And all these microprocessors are very sensitive to the quality of the electricity they use. Using power that isn’t “clean” can make these devices malfunction, or even damage them."So, at the end of the day I cannot say enough good things about this generator in regards to the 2 times I have used it. A+ in my book!

Well....hurricane Irma visited us a few days ago...I ordered this Champion 4700/3800 last year...it stayed packed in the box until a day before Irma was to arrive. My son got it ready in less than 15 mins.Filled it will the oil that came with it.Filled it with gas and cranked that baby up just to test and show me what to do...easy peasy...especially with the electric start button. When the power went out. I connected 2 refrigerators, 2 freezers, a fan, 2 tvs & DVR, a heat lamp for 30 baby chicks, 2 indoor lamps, coffee maker and waffle iron..And I think it had power to spare...This generator never missed a beat and it ran constantly for 4 days until we regained power. It certainly made life easier.Great generator!!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I purchased this generator without the battery start option. I called and emailed Champion to verify the following information befor I purchased this generator. The reason why I purchased the non electronic/electric start is because if battery is dead or has been taken out (for some reason) of the generator, you cannot pull start this generator if running it on gasoline. You can pull start it on propane only. The reason is because there is a 12V (battery operated) solenoid valve in the carburetor that turns off the flow of gas to the carburetor when no battery is present or the generator button is turned off . For me, it has to run no mater what on either fuel. Making this generator dependent on a 12 volt battery is a point of failure in my mind. If the battery was dead and my wife had to go out and start if it , she cannot trouble shoot a dead battery and a 12 volt solenoid when she needs the generator to work. Batteries always fail when you need them the most. Other than this the generator is great. I researched it for some time before purchasing it.Update: This June 2018 saw a big storm come through our state . Power was knocked out. Pulled the generator out of the garage. Hooked it up to propane and we were up and running. It has been over 90 degrees here and this generator allowed us to continue our lives comfortably. We even watched out dish tv. All other houses on our block were dark. As far as I am concerned it has paid for its self already. I plan on purchasing one for each of my sons and their homes as well. Well worth the money.

Based on our current use we would recommended this generator to everyone. It is very solid generator and meets our needs. We purchased this generator because we live in Florida and do to Hurricanes. For a low cost high powered generator that runs on propane or gas, I think you would be hard pressed to find another that has all the options, key start, and comes with the battery and all the accessories included. A standalone Generac 15KW would have been 9 thousand dollars with the auto transfer switch. You will save thousands and get the same results with this generator. This is more than enough to run my hole home, and I have 3 freezers, 1 fridge, and many other devices. Granted, my lights in my house are ALL LED now, which helps! But I was able to run three window unit also with four box fans with celling paddle fans, water heater, house water pump all at the same time. Most of the time I don’t rate or comment. BUT seeing some of these peoples who don’t have a clue what they doing writing comments here. If you never worked with four-stroke engines. Hire someone else don't blame the generators, do to ignorance of how to ADJUST IT. Then yes, I saw you needed to hook up the negative ground wire, (all batteries on engines never comes hook up) to the battery so I did that. (Now this quote from some other people writings) #1 “the unit will start rite up but surges badly on LP. Turning off the auto throttle switch corrects this issue. There is nothing in the manual regarding this switch. Once this was done the engine runs smooth.”#2 Engine revs up then dies down. Pretty annoying. (YOUR FIX) If you adjust the idle on the carburetor up, you can fix this and the auto throttle will work for LP running. Knowing what to do is key here. And No, you will not find this in the instructions. Again, Hire someone else if you do not know what I am talking about, don't blame the generator. It is shipped without oil, so it needs 1qt and a half of 5-w30. This is in your instructions, so, why be surprise you don’t have any oil. I do not recommend the 20gal that’s a full-sized grill propane cylinder. You can only use a little under half a tank before you will have problems with not enough Pressure to run generator. Get a sixty or eighty gallon, will work better and longer. I myself have it on a 250gal tank.Hope I have cleared up these “People miss understandings of what not to do.Dr.DRE1965
We purchased this generator because after Hurricane Matthew last year we determined we did not want to go without water and air conditioning in Florida. We have had to put it into use because of Hurricane Irma, and based on our experiece so far we would say it is a great tool for your storm preparations. We have been running on the generator now for five full days and it has held up quite well. We started off on propane from a 100lb tank and that lasted from mid-day Sunday when the power went out to Tuesday afternoon when we noticed the condensation at the very bottom of the propane tank (~47 hours) That utilization is running a ~2,600sqf 5br home with 4 ton 16 seer A/C and a well and two refridgerators (we have on-demand electric water heaters that are on a separate box and are too high a load for the generator so they are not included). One note about the A/C, as noted in another review, the lights do dim when the A/C kicks on because the startup load is pretty heavy on a 4 ton A/C unit. We did not turn the breaker on with the double oven, but the stove top and microwave have been used numerous times. For the A/C, it does put a heavy load on the generator when it starts however after startup, the A/C runs quite well. We have ensured we do not use the A/C at the same time as the stove based on the load. We have the generator into the house using a Reliance  Reliance Controls Corporation PBN50 50-Amp NEMA 3R CS6375 Power Inlet Box for Generators Up to 12,500 Running Watts  and a 15ft cable  Conntek 1450SS2-15 15-Foot Temporary Power Cord, 50-Amp 125/250-Volt, NEMA 14-50P Generator Plug to CS6364 Locking Connector  directly to the power box. In the box we installed a manual interlock kit to meet code requirements  Square D by Schneider Electric HOMCGK2C Homeline Cover Generator and QOM2 Frame Size Main Breaker Interlock Kit . Once we ran out of propane, we switched to gasoline and have been running on that ever since (yes, we are still out of power 5 days later). For the gasoline, the longest we have allowed the generator to run without filling is 12 hours overnight, and that was with the A/C set to 78 degrees, so it did come on during the night, and when we filled the tank in the morning, there was still over an inch of gasoline left in the tank. These times will vary based on the load upon the generator, and we realize we have been using it well above a 50% load.On the technical side, the reason this gets four stars instead of five is because of the tires. After receiving the generator, the wheels were installed and the generator stored in our garage. The wheels are made of solid plastic, and the weight of the generator made them go flat on the down side. We replaced them with pneumatic tires and that addressed the issue. Secondly, it would be very useful to have a load indicator on the generator to show overall load against the output. The generator starts quickly and easily using the electric start, however I could not get it to start with the pull rope. Also the charging indicator has come on numerous times even though the generator has been running for days, and if the battery is not charged at this point, I am unsure why it would happen. Lastly, the user manual says to change the oil every 20 hours or monthly. We changed the oil as specified, and it certainly looked as if it needed to be changed. Do NOT put this off because as with any engine, dirty oil will cause the engine to overheat and eventually cause damage.Lastly for the seller we purchased from. They did very well addressing concerns with shipping because we live way out on a dirt road and there were difficulties with the drop shipment. The seller did address the issues very quickly and ensured that we were satisfied with the sale.Based on our current use we would (and have) recommended this generator to friends. It is (so far) very solid and meets our current needs. We will provide an update to the review after our power is restored and the first real use of the generator is complete.UPDATE - So just wanted to update this review after 3 years of use. The generator has seen a lot of use as we live in Florida and losing power is not an unusual occurrence. I even accidentally dropped it while moving it with my tractor and it got pretty banged up cosmetically. Having said that, at over 3 years old it runs like a champ and starts every time. The only thing that has had to be replaced was this year the battery. In the Florida heat with a sealed battery that is not unexpected. We again stand by our initial review and would absolutely buy this generator again.Update December 31, 2020 - Pulled the generator out to use it to power a welder in an area with no power. Initially it ran, but was very difficult to start with propane (we have used it almost exclusively with propane). It ran for one day on the propane, but the second day it ran for about 15 minutes and just sputtered and died. Upon inspection there seems to be a good deal of oil around the pressure regulator, but again, it would not start or run at all on propane.Filled the tank with gasoline and it started on the first turn of the key. Ran perfectly for 8 hours. We are assuming the pressure regulator has either failed or is gunked up with oil. After some amount of research, it is apparently not uncommon for propane to have oil in it depending on the source of the propane. If it is generated from crude oil, it may have a higher content of actual oil residue in the propane. I'm not going to take stars away because I think this may be more of an issue with the propane source than the generator. Going to replace the regulator and see if that fixes the problem.

Mine, according to Champion tech support, "was shipped with a defective computer". I'm disappointed for sure, but going to give it another shot with a replacement generator of the same model. I'll update this review if the replacement is any better.Update:I received a replacement generator in two days. It started on the first pull, and has been running a small electrical load for several hours now to break it in. It seems to be running quite well, so I'm upping my review from 1 star, to 4, and will update this review again after our first camping trip.Update 2:After a week long camping trip using this generator to recharge our boat's trolling motor batteries, I have to say, I'm a fan. It's quiet, reliable, and weighs and costs less than most other generators in its' class. That said, I would, and likely will, recommend this product to family and friends, especially when I know customer support is up to par.Hope this helps you choose the right generator for you.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  First review for the 1600W suitcase dual fuel generator (scroll further down for 4500W remote start model)I had a 1600W suitcase generator from Generac for years and it was unreliable and always needed warranty repairs. After I told my buddy I was thinking about upgrading, he took my old one and that allowed me to buy this dual fuel from Champion. This is now the third power product I have bought from Champion. Their customer service is top notch and I believe they offer a quality product at a reasonable price. A selling point for me for this generator was the dual fuel option. I do a lot of ATV rides to cabins, trails, ice fishing etc and I will bring a generator with on occasion. The issue I used to have was if I did not completely shut the fuel off and drain the carb, the generator would flood during transport. It was a huge pain. With propane, there is no trouble all. A 20 pound tank and the generator fit in my ATV basked perfectly and it starts right up each time with no flooding issues. At the cabin, there is an adapter the gas company made so I can hook this up to either the 100 or 250 pound pig and it will run however long I need it to.Another feature I like is that with the dial selector, I can switch back and forth between propane or gas. I can see this coming in handy if I ran out of one type of fuel, there is always a backup fuel option available. Sometimes, gas is easy to come by, such as on ATV trips, yet propane is much easier to have on hand when at the cabin. So for me, this generator makes perfect sense. Everyone always wants to compare any suitcase generator to the Hondas with respect to noise levels, and by db rating, this one is only a few db more, at about half the price. At about a 30% load, I have gotten 10-11 hours of run time before needing to refuel. The LED indicators seem fairly accurate on estimated power usage. When using gasoline, it also gives an estimated tank time left based on current power consumption (not with propane however). My one gripe is that there is no propane purge valve to prime the line. So, as you can see from the video, when you start on propane, you have to pull the starter about 5-6 times to allow propane to fill the line and enter the generator. Overall, this isn't a huge deal, but if anything needs improvement, that's an easy one for their engineers to fix.I just did the first oil change and it was easy to access the motor and oil fill without needing any special tools to open up the case. This makes routine oil level checks a breeze. So far, I'm very satisfied with my purchase. I hope this helps you with your purchase decision!**********************4500W with remote start model review!PROS:Affordable, feature packed, remote start, trickle charge adapter plug installed along with remote oil drain tube from the factory.CONS:Battery compartment door doesn’t have a thumb screw, display screen hard to read in sunny environments.I have an open frame inverter from Champion that I used all last year with my camper and it was a fantastic unit. I brought that unit to my friends off the grid cabin for a weekend. He liked the remote start feature so much he wanted to keep it and replace his since mine has the remote start feature. That allowed me the opportunity to purchase this enclosed model which will be perfect for use in a few camping areas where noise needs to be kept reasonable.Out of the box, remove the shipping screws, add the supplied oil, connect the battery cables, add gas and you are running. It was really that quick. The unit is fairly heavy at about 100 pounds, but the lifting handles are powder coated for an anti-slip grip and are very robust. The hide away pull handle lifts out and you can cart the unit where you need it. Starting is very easy, just spin the dial to the green indicator, turn the battery switch on and press the remote start button! The choke is controlled electronically so there is no need to do anything else. You can also start the generator at the control panel by pushing in the yellow button on the control dial. Lastly, never buy a generator without a recoil start in case your battery goes dead. The recoil is smooth and provides comfort that I have a backup starting option if I need it.At 62db, this is the quietest generator I own by far. For a rig that supplies 4500 watts peak, I don’t know if you will find one out of the box this quiet in this price range. People always ask me how does it compare to the Honda? My answer with this is, “Well, it has more power and cost 3X LESS!” I do love Honda, but I simply can’t justify the cost when I’m getting everything I need for so much less. The Inteligage will read out the frequency (Hz), voltage, current run time and total run time. The display can be tricky to read in full sun, but I rarely look at it anyway. The total load LED status bar is nice to see so that when I’m running portable tools, I know how much “juice” I have left to use. I have a 13,500 BTU air conditioner in my camper and this unit runs it no problem. It will also run a 15,000 BTU air conditioner. Aside from the 30amp camper plug, it has two standard 120V outlets and an 8amp 12 Volt receptacle. With this being an inverter style generator, “dirty” AC power is converted to DC, cleaned up and then converted back to AC power. This clean sine wave power is important for electronics and even modern electronically controlled water heaters and boilers. Dirty power from construction style generators can add electrical noise in speakers and TV’s at times, but there is no worry about that from this generator.Engine break in is 5 hours, then you can run any standard or synthetic oil that is appropriate for your climate. Did I mention the remote start!? I don’t want to say I’m lazy, but let me tell you, starting the generator from inside the warm camper to get the coffee going is such a treat. At the remote cabin site, not having to go out to the generator shack in the middle of the night to recoil start the old beast is also quite nice. With 80 feet of remote range, you have plenty of options. One more tip, you can leave your devices or cords plugged into the generator when starting or stopping the generator. However, it is best practice to have your circuit breaker OFF. Wait until the generator starts up and stabilizes the idle, then flip your breaker ON. This will make sure there is little to no power fluctuation to your appliances or devices.I hope you found this review helpful, please give me a thumbs up if so. Thanks everyone and happy camping!

For those looking for the quick bottom line review:I am extremely happy with this generator. It has more than enough power to keep my family of 6, with 4 tech dependent children, relatively calm and comfortable for days without power. It is also reasonable sound level wise to run through the night, living in a housing community with neighbors very close. No, I would not attempt to power an air conditioner.Power output: 5/5Noise: 5/5Portability: 4/5Easy of use: 5/5Easy of care/maintenance: 5/5Overall look: 5/5The only 2 cons I can come up with:- It's heavy - I can lift it myself to get it into my SUV, but I could not carry it far. It does however have wheels and a pull out handle to make rolling it around quite easy.- after using for about a day an a half, it began leaking a VERY small amount of oil from around the oil drainage tube. No noticeable amount when checking the dipstick---------------------------------------------------------For those looking for an in-depth review with details (like I was) to help make a purchase decision... here ya go..Background:I am a mid thirties computer programmer, living with my girlfriend and our 4 kids (ages 8-17). We live in a townhouse that's part of a very stereotypical upper middle class housing community. Our 4 kids are very technology and internet dependent, spreading across streaming services, gaming, and social media. Additionally, I work from home and am dependent on my full setup (monitors, laptop, switches, etc..) for my job.I purchased this generator after losing power for 5 days as a result of a bad thunderstorm with lots of downed trees (and wires) in the area. At the time, I didn't have one at all, but borrowed an uncle's 3400 watt portable generator for the last few days. It was a typical, cheap, "camping" style generator with an open caged design. It was incredibly loud, resulting in countless mean looks and nasty comments from neighbors. It also produced "dirty" power, so we were only able to use it for the freezers and fridge, not any of the electronics. It was also notably lacking in information output, like power consumption, fuel level, etc..After that experience, I did a bunch of research and landed on this Wen Inverter Generator.I purchased in mid May 2020, and got my first full usage in July 2020 when another storm knocked out power for 3 days. Used the generator basically non-stop for 3 days without issue.Power:Most importantly, this produces "clean" power that is safe to use for whatever, electronics or other. While using this generator, I never used even 50% of its available output. Much of the time using less than 25%, depending on freezer/fridge compressors being on/off. With that, I was able to power the following (at least): 2 deep chest freezers, a standard refrigerator/freezer combo, sump pump, dehumidifier, cable modem, 3 routers, several laptops, a 24" monitor, 8 large stand/box fans, 6 lamps, as many as 10 phones/tablets, plus a toaster and coffee pot as needed. I also successfully ran a 65" TV without issue, but did not keep that on, just because. Overall, plenty of power.Noise:This is the big one everyone is worried about. Being honest, I was rather shocked and pleased at how quietly this runs. To be clear, this is not silent! It's a generator. If you're expecting no noise, or similar to a small fan, you're kidding yourself. However, my general assessment from walking around my neighborhood in the evenings (something I do regularly, power or no) is that it produces slightly less noise than a typical outdoor central air unit. Standing directly next to it, you can hold a conversation without yelling. At 15+ ft away, it's background noise and overall "not irritating". Standing about 10ft away from it, I could hear my neighbor's generator (about 100 ft away) overtop of my own. At one point when coming back from a walk, I was convinced it had shut off for some reason because I couldn't hear it until I was quite close. I had no reservations about noise level when running this all night.Fuel Consumption:The tank is admittedly smaller than I was thinking I'd like when I bought it. However, it has turned out to not be an issue. I was refueling about every 12 hours, without ever running out. I expect (with the load noted above) it would last about 14-15 hrs on a full tank. And a 5 gallon gas can is perfect for two fillings (plus a little extra).Look/Feel:This generator looks gorgeous (as far a generators are concerned). It's has a modern, clean look, especially compared to it's competitors. It feels very solid, sturdy, and well built. It also feels very intelligently designed, with easy of use/care in mind. It has a fuel level and power consumption gauge, presented as LED bars at 25% intervals. Doesn't give exact values in the display, but enough to be helpful, and more than many others.Starting:Since this generator contains a battery, after the first start (once the battery has power), it will start electronically by simply turning the dial. On the first start, the pull cord starts it with ease, requiring very little pulling effort/energy. It is NOT like starting a lawn mower or weed wacker that takes a very quick, strong pull.Care/Maintenance:This is where I was quite pleasantly surprised. This generator is clearly built with ease of maintenance in mind. Which stands out compared to other generators I have interacted with. Most notably, when you are done using your generator and ready to store it longer term, you need to drain the gasoline from it to keep it in good working order. I have taken screenshots of me doing this process to showcase just how easy it is. Remove 2 screws to take the side panel off. Pull the pre-attached tube out to the side and direct towards gasoline container. Loosen a single screw and let drain. Then turn the starting dial to "run" and let drain again. That's it...The oil dipstick and access is not fantastic, but equal to any others I've seen. I also note that there is an easy drainage tube for the oil as well, when changing the oil is necessary. There is also easy access to change a sparkplug. Also worth noting that I purchased a 10 gauge RV cord (pictured) that converts to a 3-way standard 3 prong plug. I also purchased several long 12 gauge three way extension cords to plug into that RV cord. That is how I connected everything. No cords were even warm to the touch.Overall, I would strongly recommend this generator to anyone, including my own family (which I have already done). I would definitely buy another one myself, if I needed it for some reason. Hope this proves informative to someone else.
It’s heavy but starts easy and packs the power we need. Very quiet too! Will run 2 freezers and 2 refrigerators and doesn’t even grunt. Living in California it gives us peace of mind considering we now have blackouts due to fire control. I usually don’t do reviews but I did a lot of searching to find this and thought it might help someone else. 👍

Great value! Purrs like a kitten and started with one pull. I wish manufacturers would put a little lite by the control pan RLS for when you need to see it at night. I also wish it came with a cover of some kind. Testing this weekend but so far so good. And at this price point with a 2 year warranty it runs right up there with the best of them! Gonna buy a second one and try the parallel system. Anyone in the market for a solid lightweight and quite inverter generator should look no further!
I ran it for a hour, changed oil, then ran it another hour under load. I could run nearly everything in my 18' travel trailer. It did lug down but it did run the microwave. Surprisingly, it ran the 13,500 but a/c.And it appears not to have a open ground either, according to my surge protector It's only shortcoming is I don't think it is as quiet as they claim. But if it is reliable and lasts a few years who cares? It's much Les expensive than the main brands6-13-21: Have run it several hours with no issues. I have measured it with a decibal meter and it's hard to get down to what they say. I'm still satisfied with it.

Ok I've had the generator 3 years now. first let me tell you I have the most unreliable electric service of anyone I know, every time the wind blows my lights go out. Most of the time it takes at least one or two days before power is restored. I used to go get a motel room at $85 per night until the lights come back on. That all ended when I got this generator. I have used it about 15 or 20 times in the last 3 years. It always starts right up and runs my refrigerator a small ac unit in my bedroom, my tv and any lights {led} in the house. It will run anywhere between 10 to 15 hours on a tank of gas {4 gal}. All my neighbors are suffering while I'm watching tv with cool air and cold drinks.Best purchase ever 5 stars Wow! 4 years still runs great. Well it’s been 5years sents I got this generator. In that time I have had to use it many times and I just love it.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  UPDATE: After sitting for a year, with original gas, the unit fired up like new. It handled refrigerator, 55" TV, Dish box, internet modem, house phone, and portable heater with ease. You just can't go wrong. BONUS: After 8 hours it only used 3/4 tank of gasoline.First off, Amazon had this generator on my door step in 2 days. Secondly, I looked @ many Amazon reviews. Then I went to Youtube and found out this generator had been around for a long time. 4 stars is great on Amazon, but this unit had 4 and a half stars. I took the packing braces off, and followed the instructions. My intent was to pull the cord real slow to give the oil some time to slosh around. My plan did not work. I pulled the string a literal hair and the unit fired up. I have never seen anything like it! I have had several new mowers and weed eaters, and NOTHING started this easily, and I mean nothing! I plugged in TV/Dish, refrigerator, portable heater, heating pad, tablet.....and everything worked like a charm. I would do a TV commercial for this company. Thank you Amazon for recommending this generator. BTW, my husband is talking in the video.

This generator checks all the boxes. I was looking for a generator big enough to run my air conditioning, well pump, fans and lights. I found it. At first it was having trouble starting my air conditioner, but I had my hvac guy install a “hard start” on my ac and it starts it without fail now. It’s a 3&1/2 ton unit. Based on the electrical load my electrician said I was running it at about 75% of its capacity. Running time on it’s 6.6 gallon tank are different on the Amazon description and the manufacturer owners manual. One says 17 hours and the other says 14 hours on a single tank. I believe you could get 14 hours on a 50% load, but running mine at 75% load I got 9 hours and 45 minutes on a single tank. So you’re looking at about 16.25 gallons to run it for 24 hours at 75% load. I’m a bit of a preper so I like to have enough fuel on hand to run my house off the grid for at least a whole week. This requires me to keep about 115 gallons of fuel on hand which I buy at the beginning of summer and after hurricane season I just use it up in our cars. Bigger 12k/15k generators will consume about 1 gallon per hour at 50% load. At 75% load this 9500/12500 generator uses about (.67) gallon per hour. Also worth mentioning, larger generators don’t offer a backup pull start. They are electric start only. Although this generator has a lot of bells and whistles, it still maintains basic generator functions such as a pull start and manual choke. Simple drain and fill oil changes without oil filters. Bigger generators have automotive style oil filters and electric only choke. You will never worry about losing power again. Also worth noting....to wire this to the house utilizing the 50 amp plug I went directly to an RV center to get it. A 50’ chord was about $225 but well worth it for a long durable chord. Big box hardware stores won’t carry the gauge wire you need to make a long chord. Hope this review helps.
Pros: came via drop shipping as scheduled without damage. Easy to unbox and assemble. Remote start works great and is very convenient. Produces plenty of power and doesn’t bog down with high surge loads. Gas shutoff is easy to access. Included instructions were clear on how to convert the generator to a floating neutral (most homes with a transfer switch).Cons: Heavy (but not bad to move with the wheels). Loud (but tolerable compared to other open frame generators in this range)Bottom line- Affordable and powerful this is the best of its class. Consumer reports rates it well and I agree with them.

When it worked, the generator was great. I bought this specifically because it runs on both propane and gasoline, and had intended to only use it on propane. It worked fine the first couple of times, and then the engine stopped turning over. I could hear propane moving, and could also smell it coming out, and you could see the shadow of the vapors coming out of the air filter. Having seen when I bought it that it had a 3 year warranty, my confidence was high that things would all work out. I emailed their customer service (who generally takes 2-3 days to respond) and explained the problem. They instructed me on some troubleshooting, which I did, and they concluded that it was the regulator that needed to be replaced. They emailed me and said that only the parts were under warranty, and that I would be responsible for the cost of having the part shipped to me, and asked me to call to take care of it. Not being a small engine mechanic myself, I was immediately concerned. Did they expect me to replace this myself? (yes, yes they did) I also could not believe that they expected me to pay for the shipping of the part under their warranty. Prior to calling I did some looking around online to verify that the warranty was indeed this bad. It is. But what was more disconcerting is that while looking on THEIR site, the very first review of this generator is as follows: "Got this generator last week. Propane doesn't work. Can hear a hissing sound of propane coming from down by pressure release valve or carburetor. You can also see the vapors coming out." This was my exact problem! So I call and talk with customer service guy and explain all of my concerns. He is completely scripted. The conversation from his end could be described as disingenuously over-cheery, while conspicuously disinterested and unsympathetic. I would be surprised if there were more than 10 words strung together that didn't come straight from a laminated script. When I gave him my credit card number to pay for the shipping he said, "Now unfortunately it appears that the part is on a backorder, and we won't be able to ship it until October 3rd (this was the end of August)" I say "Wait... What???" He says "Yeah, and normally we wouldn't charge you for the shipping until we sent the part, but because it's more than 30 days away, we're going to need to settle (the script's less confrontational word for "charge") today, otherwise when it goes more than 30 days without being paid for the system will cancel the order." The word "backorder" makes me leery, especially if it's more than a week or 2 because in my experience it can also be synonymous with "we don't know when it will be here, but this will give you really low expectations that will be easier to deal with if things don't go as we hope." I paid the fee, so we'll see what happens, but this was such a disappointing experience. The shipping wasn't very much, but by putting it on me for their faulty part seems ridiculous. I will never buy another Duromax product again. Unreliable and unsupportive.
We live in a hurricane prone state. We ordered a Duramax 3850 duel fuel generator following a lengthy power outage due to Hurricane Irma in Sept 2017. Generator arrived as scheduled and started right up. It was satisfying to know that we were prepared if another hurricane came our way. The remainder of hurricane season was quiet and the generator was NOT EVER USED.After spending the winter safely in our garage (and started periodically) we attempted to start the generator in May 2018. It would not start! I called the help number in the manual and spoke to a "Technical Support Team" member. He diagnosed our issue and said the part was under warranty for 3 years. I ordered the part in June but was then told that the part was "backordered" until July 27.I called on July 26 to verify that our part was on the way but without notice was told that the part is now "back ordered" until late Sept. What good is a warranty if the parts are unavailable! The generator, which has never been used, is useless and the warranty is worthless.Furthermore, I have called Duramax repeatedly and they never call back as promised. We regret purchasing this generator!
