Bought multiple packs to try at Disneyland this spring. First day I loaded this one up with 2-liters of water, snacks, camcorder equipment, light jacket, GoPro equipment. Room to spare but not too bulky. Wanted to capture every moment with my grand-daughters and have space for those special souvenirs that just "had to be bought now".With the additional straps this snugged down great so taking the pack on and off for each ride/attraction was simple. It was dragged, dropped, pulled on, snagged, smashed, and jerked and held up like new. I loved the waterproof pocket on the inside which though designed to store we stuff, was a lifesaver for protecting sensitive items during rides that tend to splash a lot of water all over the rider :-)I did not even try the other packs and used this one the entire week. When done it folded up into its special self-contained pouch and went back into my suitcase taking up very little space.A great pack that will become a standard day pack going forward. Absolutely love it.
*Update* Just had to come back & say more about this bag after owning (abusing) it for a year. Bought some elastic cord to thread through the loops on the front...even more storage! Just packed my family of 4 overnight in this gem. Pool gear, PJs, toiletries, fresh clothes & all. Filled to the brim & holding tight as ever. Never a popped zipper or even a stray thread that I can tell. Been through the washer multiple times. The wet pocket has been a lifesaver for wet stuff, but bc of its location against the wearer's back, also for cash or other valuables.Original review: Owned for 3 mos now & used it for everything from a waterpark with the family to an airplane carryon, & now a hiking trip through the western US. This is the best day pack I have ever owned, even over a couple other well-known & far more expensive brands. I have folded & unfolded it repeatedly, filled it to capacity, tugged on all the straps, hung it while heavy from the top loop...everything is sturdy & well-made. Because it's foldable, it does not have any support or shape of its own, which means no padding in the cargo area. I have learned to be aware how I pack so lumpy items dont poke me in the back while I'm wearing it, but in all I could not be happier with this bag. Will be buying a few for gifts!
I’ve purchased several other lightweight backpacks. However, Venture Pal’s is my favorite, because the fabric seems best designed for long-term durability. I carried a Bass backpack for 20 years: I anticipate this Venture Pal will last as long.Considering the less joy-sparking colors of my previous backpacks, I’m delighted by Venture Pal’s fuchsia nylon. Durable, lightweight, highly visible, and gorgeous—I am smitten. This pack held our stainless steel water bottles much better than two other packs we carried on our adventure. And, the zippers never caught on the fabric which was common on another pack. The main zipper did catch on itself the first zip, but worked well every time otherwise.Over all, this is a purchase I do not regret. Fantastic fabric and appears as well-built as my 20-year-old backpack.

I picked up this TETON Sports Oasis 1100 Hydration pack to replace a bulkier standard backpack, and I couldn't be more pleased with its performance, capacity, and looks. As an archaeologist, I subject my gear to very harsh conditions and usage. I am confident this pack will hold up for many seasons---it has already weathered many gnarly briar patches and "unintentional ground contact" incidents unscathed! In addition to being robust, it is also deceptively capacious. I have included an image that shows all I pack on my daily hikes, and there is still room in the pack for more gear that I only occasionally require such as a 4" Marshalltown trowel, a file, small bottles of incidentals (Technu, peroxide, and calamine lotion), as well as found artifacts. I imagine it could hold even more were the bladder removed, but the hydration system is a must for me!After a couple of good washes, the bladder doesn't have much of an aftertaste, the bite valve works well, and the tube is more than long enough for my needs. The length of the tube is, in fact, my only qualm with this pack as it is perhaps a bit too long and does not stay tucked into the bladder pocket very well. A small quibble, I know. Also, the pack is not quite as bright as it appears in the image (at least as it appears on my screen). It is a more subdued pumpkin seed-type color rather than blaze/hunter orange. I chose this color based on the desire for a high-visibility pack and was a tad disappointed by the color, but it should still function well with other high-visibility measures in situations where one wants to be seen.As a fairly large man (6'2", 210), I was pleased that all the straps were more than adequate for my frame. The pack sits well on the back, and the mesh pads allow for some airflow and comfort while keeping one's body heat from warming up the water too much. This is a great alternative to the much more expensive Camelbak packs (not a commentary on that brand's quality, just a matter of comparison).Addendum: While there is a kitty in the image, she is not actually included in the list of items I carry everyday. However, she would probably fit in the pack with the pictured gear comfortably! (Please do not put your cat in your backpack.)
I needed a hydration pack that would be great for long hikes, had plenty of storage for a few survival essentials and not be bulky because I have a small frame of a body. It also needed to be lightweight because I wanted to be able to run with it for my longer runs and not have it weigh me down. It also had to be inexpensive. I was able to find packs that offered at least one of those criteria, but what I wanted was the whole package. I looked at the size, it was about the size that I wanted, and it offered adequate storage for my needs. I looked at the price and it was in my budget range. I liked everything about this pack and decided to go ahead and buy it.Pockets:The pack has four zippered pockets the biggest used for the hydration bladder and it has a Velcro strap to hold the bladder in place. There are also two openings near the top at the start of the shoulder straps for the bladder tube to reach through. The second zippered pocket is just a normal storage pocket. You can put your workout clothes, food, and electronics; just about anything, you might need for a run or long hikes. I use it to keep an extra bladder just in case I might be out for a longer time. The next pocket is big enough for your wallet, keys, protein bar, flavored drink mix ex. The last pocket is bigger than the smallest pocket and it can be used to keep you cell phone or small electronics in place. There are two elastic pouches as well as a clip in this pocket. On the outside of this pocket there is net made of elastic bungee cord that can be used to hold various objects in place. There is one more pocket that contains a rain guard for the pack. It is located on the bottom of the pack labeled "RAINCOVER". It is a Velcro pocket and it is easy to miss if you do not know what to look for. This is actually great because it does not draw attention away from the pack.Accessories:The pack comes with two side elastic water bottle holders. It has various clips that can be used to tighten or loosen the pack to help make carrying various objects a breeze. There is a clip that I used which can unfold the last pocket. I used to keep my towel in place. It can be used to store climbing rope or other items. The back of the pack has two sturdy 1-Centimeter thick foam pads that run down along the pack. They are covered in breathable material in the form of net type structure. The shoulder straps are really thin and have thin foam with large surface area to allow breathability. There are two stability straps. One runs along your chest are and the orange buckle used to secure the strap has a built in survival whistle which is quite loud. The second strap runs along your waist and ahs generous amount of slack to accommodate varies waist sizes. There is also a strap on the very top of the pack that can be used to hang the pack. One little thing that many people do not know about is on the very bottom of the pack there is a "V" shaped hole. It is in the pocket that holds the water bladder. That is there to allow for drainage of water if your pack becomes wet.The stitches:I have gone through and observed the stitching on this pack and I can safely say it is really well done. The stitches are barely visible and they use the color thread according to the pack color you chose. It is actually very beautiful. The verdict:I do my best to provide helpful reviews and I try to go into as much detail as possible. I make it a point to be unbiased and all my reviews are written and rewritten to insure I give the most update information. I ordered and tested this pack on a few hikes as well as running and found it to be one of the best inexpensive hydration packs out on the market. I ordered the green pack because Green Is my favorite colure and the pack itself is beautifully constructed.I am inclined to order another pack if anything happens to my first one as well as recommending it to friends and family. I enjoyed this product and I give it full five stars.
I want to preface this review by saying that it is rare that I write a review. However, I feel it necessary in this case so that any customer knows what they are purchasing.I got this pack not long ago due to the fact that I have an older camelbak that I plan to give to my son. I was looking to replace it with something comparable, but did not want to spend the $150 that I did on the camelbak.I got this pack and went over it very well. And for the price, I don't think that you can find anything better. This pack rivals if not surpasses the camelbak that I have.On to my next point, the customer service. The customer service experience that I had is what prompted me to write this review. About a week after I got the pack, I had used the pack once and was cleaning it. Well, the connection between the tube and the bladder (screw in) broke. This was probably my fault, so I figured that I was SOL. I contacted customer service via email and within hours I received a response. Mind you, this was a Sunday night. And by Monday morning I had a new bladder and tube on my way with a tracking number. Now, my breaking the tube is by no means a reflection of the quality. The part where the tube screws into the pack is very well made, and in my opinion, a wonderful feature. It is much better than the click in style that camelbak offers. I feel it is much less prone to leakage.Anyway, this is a great product backed up by even better customer service. This pack rivals that costing three times the amount, and I think that Teton has a new customer for life.

This backpack got me through a fairly intense hiking around Phoenix, AZ. I carried it on my back for about 12 hours one day, and I have to say it was pretty darn comfortable. Carried like 5 powerade bottles, a spare water bottle, a camera, pants, and a hoodie, with plenty of room to spare. I probably would've been weighed down before it got overburdened. It has a pretty thin profile too, which was helpful when my back was against a steep wall. I liked the mesh pockets on either side; I just kept switching out powerade bottles. The backpack felt really secure with the check strap buckled. It never really got in my way or felt loose other than when I had my body tilted at an angle and it started to slide, but even then it only budged a bit and didn't change my weight too much. The fact that it easily folds up into its own pocket was very useful, as I only took a "personal item" sized bag with me on this trip and it didn't take up much room within. There are a few tears that did develop at the bottom due to the real rough ordeal I put it through, so we'll see how that lifetime warranty is. I'll probably update and add or subtract a star based on how that's handled. Overall I'm pretty happy with this thing though!Update: The company promptly responded to my inquiry about the lifetime warranty and I was able to order a free replacement. It should be here in a couple days and I foresee no issues with it so I'm bumping my rating up to 5 stars for the service. I'll of course update if anything goes amiss.
****I have changed my review from 3 stars to 4 stars after being contacted by the company after my original review. They let me know about the lifetime warranty that comes with the bag and offered to replace it or refund me. I opted for a refund as I still would prefer a higher quality bag rather than get replacements for this one over and over, however if you are looking for a lighter weight light duty bag, this could be a nice mid-range price option.****I got this backpack for a Mexico trip wanting something that would offer a little rain resistance if we ended up in tropical rain storms... which we did... and it was overall ok, but I probably wouldn't buy it again.PROS:- There are lots of pockets which was super useful and helped keep everything organized. * The front lower zipper pocket has a smaller separator inside and a additional zipper pocket. This was very secure and really handy. * The upper front zipper pocket was great because we could fit a few snack bars and our sunglasses in it so they wouldn't get scratched. * The side mesh pockets were a good size and we easily fit extra large Liter water bottles comfortably. * The main pouch had two additional subdivisions, one against the front and one against the back, which were also really helpful.- The bag itself was really light weight- It folds up to a fairly small size and conveniently zips up into itself for easy packing- The straps were comfortable and solid and the chest strap was nice when the bag was heavy- The "water resistant" fabric did help keep the contents dry-ish when it rained or on a boatCONS- The material was too thin and by the end of the trip, all be it a month long trip but one trip none the less, it was ripped in several places.- The "water resistance" was really more like a treatment on the inside of the fabric so after lots of wear, rubbing, heat, and, you guessed it, water, the treatment stuff was peeling off all over the bag- The edges of the fabric where the zipper was sewn on weren't burnt or finished in any way so there were constantly strings pulling off and getting caught in the zipper. I'd yank off big balls of fluffy thread that had frayed off the edges almost daily.- The zipper cover on the upper outer front pocket would get caught CONSTANTLY. The manufacturer seems to have responded by the overwhelming about of user reviews mentioning this problem, but their solution was to make that zipper cover flat LARGER... That only exacerbates the problem and make it worse. It would have been better honestly with no zipper cover at all and just using a WATER RESISTANT ZIPPER like they do on the lower front pocket.- Sadly, this backpack really only lasted this one trip, which sucks. I wish I would have spent a little more money on a better backpack.
I bought this for a 7-day trip to Iceland. This was my checked bag with a week's worth of clothing and toiletries. I was able to pack more despite this backpack being smaller than my friends' bags. It held up really well for traveling, but I didn't take it on any hikes. Now I use it as my daily commuter bag into the city where it sees minimal use.Recently the chest strap buckle fell off, and I asked for a replacement part. The company sent me a promo code to re-order the backpack for free because of the lifetime warranty. That is fantastic. Simple and easy, no fuss. While I don't use the bag heavily, it holds up for my traveling needs and I'm grateful for the lifetime warranty. If you're looking to take this on a flight as checked luggage, it will hold up. So for me, I'd buy this backpack again.

I love Osprey backpacks. This is a great daypack, I love the pockets and that it comes with a raincover. What really sold me is the antigravity mesh panel, which my other Osprey backpack has. I hiked in the summer with an REI flash daypack and my back was sweating and the backpack stuck to my back the whole hike and it was annoying. So I wanted a daypack that had this same mesh panel. I used this pack for a summer hike in Zion. It was 90+ degrees out and my back stayed cool. The hip belt carried the load well, and the backpack is one size so the straps are customizable so it fits you. It has an internal bladder compartment but it doesn't come with it. The bungee loop on the backpack strap that stows your trekking poles is handy so you can stow your poles without having to take your pack off BUT I don't like using it for that purpose. I have used it for my poles but when I'm swaying my arms back and forth, the pole handles rub on my arms so instead, I stow my poles where the ice axe loop/bungee tie on the outside of the pack and it's worked great. The side pockets are stretchy mesh so I've put my 21 oz hydroflask there. Like the hip belt pockets, but I wish it could fit my phone because I like taking pictures when I'm hiking. I wish it had a magnetic tube trap because I don't like having my strap dangling around, but I bought a separate one anyway (Osprey sells them separately too). The opening to the hydration tube is too small.
Bought this pack for my 4 day Inca Trail hike in Peru and it worked perfectly. So comfortable and held what I needed every day including rain coat, poncho, snacks, etc. Was able to slide my camelback into the back netted area and had so many pockets to hold all the little supplies.
Absolutely great product. It is extremely light and also compact. I’m even able to use this on a weekend holiday. It fits enough clothes for a 2 night stay and it easily fits underneath the airline seat. I love osprey products!

UPDATE!! After writing my initial review the company contacted me and told me they took my review serious and have reinforced the bottom of the backpack. And they sent me a brand new pack. EXCELLENT customer service! Thank you for listening to your customers! I will be using this backpack again soon!I bought this backpack for a weekend trip camping in Southern California. It was a great little backpack at first. Fit everything I needed for my trip with some room to spare. I carried all my food and water along with my sleeping bag, tent, mat, stove and clothes. I have a 25 inch waist- the main reason I bought this bag since it’s meant for a smaller frame. I definitely would have liked to tighten it a bit more but couldn’t. The main reason I’m giving this bag 2 stars and not 1 is because it really held everything well and organized with all the different compartments. And it a great color- BUT at the end of my trip I saw a rip at the bottom of my bag. It’s not big but it’s there. And by no means was I rough with the bag. I’m quite upset about this rip and am not sure if I can return it since I’ve used it- only once! The material is not sturdy.
I did so much research while trying to plan my go bag. I wanted something with more space, so I ended up choosing the 45 plus 5L. This bag is PERFECT for someone who is just getting started on their hiking/backpacking/traveling/whatever journey. It seems to compare well with more higher end bags like Osprey for so much less money! I'm always looking for a bargain! Packed all my gear into it and it weighed about 20 pounds. While hiking, I barely felt it and it didn't feel hot or sweaty at all. A big plus since the rest of me was sweating with it being 90 degrees outside. I'm super happy with this purchase and hope it lasts for a long time. I'll update in half a year to a year to test the durability!
I took this backpack on a 2 night backpacking trip and carried over 30 lbs of food/clothing/hygiene items/tents and sleeping bag in or strapped on it comfortably. It is designed with accessibility in mind - the various pouches made it easy to organize items and place frequently used items in arms reach. The pack was able to fit both me at 5'5' and my 4'11" friend who got the same pack. Rain cover was great when it started drizzling but unfortunately will only fit if you have nothing large strapped to the outside.

Have any of you received anything inside your backpack. My backpack came with index cards, a pack of mechanical pencils one of which had a used eraser. It had a pack of gum that was melting which is a little concerning because it could have gotten on the backpack and it came with several smarties candies. I might have thought that this is kind of nice but I don’t think that the seller would have put these items in the bag so it actually concerns me.
Well, this thing is just impressive. I did a bunch of research looking for a new backpack, and had it narrowed down to this one and the High Sierra Fat Boy, which I also have written a review for. I originally went with the Fat Boy, considering it has more liters of space and was about half the price, it seemed like a good value. While that pack can absolutely hold more stuff than it seems it even should, it's just not comfortable. This Recon backpack, in my opinion, is everything you could want out of a pack in this price range - and then some. Allow me to explain...The first thing is the shape of the pack. It is more "tall" than wide, and this is very important. As it gets loaded up, the weight is perfectly distributed and stays "up and down", rather than the pack pushing out and making you feel like you have to work against it to not tip over backwards. Combine this design with the chest and waist straps, and this thing is not going anywhere if you don't want it to - very good for hiking, etc.Next is the comfort, which is top-notch. The straps are nice and thick, but not "squishy", they feel substantial. They are perforated in the top of the shoulder area which is going to allow them to breathe in hot weather. The material over the foam is like a thicker basketball jersey mesh, which is very comfortable and allows you to move around. The back has really well-designed foam "pockets", which have channels to help ventilate the area. Inside the back is some sort of board (assuming plastic), that keeps the shape of the pack intact no matter what's in the main compartment. I have seen a couple other reviews describe this pack as "heavy", and I completely disagree - I think it's this board that might make it seem like it's heavy, but with the pack loaded, this is what helps it keep the weight distributed nice and evenly. It doesn't feel heavy at all on your shoulders.Lastly, the compartments are insanely useful and well-designed. The secondary pouch is particularly impressive, going all the way down to the bottom of the bag and giving plenty of space. The various pockets and compartments within this part can take pretty much whatever you throw in there. The main compartment does not spread out as wide front to back as other packs, but it is very deep and still can swallow up plenty of items. There isn't really a feature on this pack that I don't think is awesome, including the front mesh pouch for quick access and the double bottle holders. This is just simply a well-designed and very comfortable backpack, and well worth the $75. The only slight issue I have with it is that it will definitely not stay upright on its own, and will need to lean on something or of course be hung, but that is really nitpicky anyways. The only other thing to watch out for is that the price varies wildly here on Amazon depending on your color choice, which kind of sucks, but it's not really in their control anyways.
I’m of mixed opinion about this backpack. When I first received it, I thought it was warped because the back was curved. Turns out it’s actually a great intentional feature making it fit against your back perfectly. Even though the back panel is hard and curved, I found that it still fit my laptop and lay against my back just as nicely as it did without it. It does sit pretty far up on your back, which is better for your back but not the coolest look if that matters to you. It is also roomy and appears durable, nice padding on back and a big thick handle. The thing I dislike the most though, is that because of the weight distribution and design, you can’t stand this backpack up without it immediately falling on its “face.” Not only does this seem like it will get the front very dirty quickly, but also the whole point of a backpack and its front compartments is to be able to reach down and access them without holding it upright. Another big drawback is the weight. When it’s on your back it actually isn’t as noticeable but when you pick it up it weighs a ton. Even empty it is heavy and with books and a laptop it was insanely heavy.I’m probably going to return it but I am conflicted about it.

A splendid well thought out pack small enough for day trip needs & roomy enough if needed for traveling or Going out on the trail. The ability to have one cavernous main compartment or utilize the divider layer with a bottom of the pack access is versatile like crazy. The bottom section offers plenty of room for sweatshirts or light jackets or whatever stuff to put away in the bottom section without it all choking out the main compartment. It also has a real organizer section with pen slots & mini slots for small things. For a few dollars more than trying to get by with the budget packs that cannot take the bulk or weight for a day’s outing, which has been my on going back pack problem, this pack is built to handle it. The shoulder straps are notably padded with use in mind. The dual bottle pockets are with the zigzag straps & large enough for my 32oz flask with ease, locking it in while keeping it handy. The removable frame is a great feature too. Greater support for the serious treks, while easy enough to ditch it for use at Disneyland & such outings where less bulk is better & the waist belt is not such an advantage to have in place. The zippers are seeming to be meant to be used with confidence to stay together. This pack’s overall design, fit & finish looks & feel is satisfying it’s better quality than the lesser priced options. It could handle having a key ring. It could also handle a mini zippered pocket by the top handle. Not using the waist belt frame forfeits the two convenience pockets that are part of the waist belt. Otherwise, this pack is thumbs up with a good looking vibe to it. If problems manifest I’d be disappointed. It has a one year warranty I doubt will be needed. Time & use will tell the story!
Missing internal water blabber secure latch. Said latch or fastener woukd normally keep the water blabber upright and in place. I had to manually add said fastener (I riveted a scrap 1/2 webbing to the interior, then patched and proofed). IHMO this is a critical feature and it is missing. Beyond that, bag is great!
First, this is a gorgeous pack. But...it is not 45L as is advertised. it is barely 30L if that. The fit is great and it is comfortable. Details are well though out. I just wish the size was properly labeled.

Okay, so I want to answer the questions that I seem to hard a hard time finding decent info for from other reviews and on the product page itself. For the record I am a 5'10" dude at about 185 lbs so I had a lot of concerns about a smaller bag like this. After trying it out, here's what stands out- hopefully this is helpful to people with similar interests as I had:Color: I liked it much more than I thought I would. Went with black because frankly the other color options are abhorrent looking (except for the blue with yellow trim, which was $15 more). But it is actually a deep charcoal in person. I think it looks great.Size: As I said before: 5'10". About 185. Fairly broad shoulders. I will say that this bag looks decent and fits fine, but I DO WISH I had gone with one of Osprey's larger models. You can see in one of my pics how the bag looks when it is just sitting naturally on me - as far as looks go, I think it's not too big, not too small. But it's not the bag itself that's the problem, it's the straps. They are super narrow and very short. You can see in one of my pictures that with the bag at a comfortable position (not hitched all the way up) I have MAYBE about 5" of slack left in the strap. The chest harness has a lot of extra room, but is annoying because there is no convenient way to store the extra slack (one of the reasons I love North Face bags). The belly strap, much like the arm straps, is very small with little extra. The bag fits, but if you are someone much bigger than me, this bag will NOT work for you. Not without some serious modifications, anyways.Stuff-It pocket: This is cool. There wasn't a single shot of what it looked like inside anywhere I saw online, so I included one. You will notice that it narrows considerably at the bottom... not too big a deal for stowing a sweater or something, but don't expect anything angular like a book to sit comfortably in there.Water Bottle holders: I saw a lot of questions about this in the Q/A for the product page. To alleviate some concerns, I have some pictures of what my 1L Hydroflask looks like in the bottle holster. It fits securely, but note that it does look a tad bit ridiculous, due to how small the bag is. But bottom line is: it fits fine, though it may slightly displace things at the bottom of the bag.Laptop Sleeve: What can I say- it works fine. I saw a number of questions about what would fit inside, so I included a pic of my 15" Macbook Pro (2015 model) sitting in there snugly. You hardly feel it when it's on your back- I would say that getting a laptop and a book or something for a night class would be no problem at all. Too much more than that though, and you may find yourself pressed for space.Additional features: I am annoyed that the belly band strap doesn't detach. I thought it did for some reason but it does not, and there is no convenient way to stash it when not in use. If you are like me and hate those things dangling at your sides all the time, prepare to be annoyed. The chest strap is easily adjustable, but as I said above, I wish I could stow the slack from the extra strap when it is adjusted. Build quality is very nice- this bag isn't advertised as water resistant, but it definitely doesn't feel like it would be easily soaked. Nothing a rain cover couldn't fix, anyways.Bottom line: Great feeling, great looking bag. This bag would be PERFECT (five stars) with some very small adjustments from Osprey: more slack in the straps, detachable belly band, and somewhat thicker/higher quality straps would make this thing for me. If you are a larger person, expect issues with fit.I am taking this bag on a serious of day trips at the end of the month, and if anything in particular stands out to me, I will come back and update my review. To Osprey Marketing people: if you are reading this, PLEASE update/do your videos differently. People don't want an explanation, they want to SEE it; thus the video. If you want to see what a good video for a bag looks like, check out any of the Thule or Peak Design Amazon product videos. They show what fits where, demonstrate all the bag features, and actually SHOW them loading their bags up, item by item. Very handy, and should be the standard imo.
BUY THIS and let me know if this review is helpful below! I just went to Cambodia and Vietnam for 15 days with just a carry-on roller bag (that I checked) and a backpack. Although I knew this backpack would be comfortable, I was concerned it wouldn't be big enough. I wasn't going to use this bag as a daypack. Instead, I just wanted something that was comfortable to carry things from one place to the other.I am SO glad that I went head and purchased this anyways. This bag is the most comfortable backpack I have ever used and the pockets are amazing. The main pocket is huge and has a computer sleeve inside (that I just used for other stuff). On the outside of the bag, there is a smaller pocket on the top with 2 mini pocket holders inside. The zipper pocket in the front is huge and can fit essential items. Additionally, that flap with the zipper pocket is also a pocket that you can stuff anything in.I fit the following things in this bag (which I used as a carry-on when I checked my bag at the airport):Main Pocket: 1 thin sweatshirt, 1 thin long sleeve shirt, 2 pairs of underwear, 1 pair shorts, 1 short sleeve shirt, 1 pair of leggings, 1 pair of socks, 1 pair of toms, 1 quart size bags of medications, 1 quart size bag of liquids, Toothbrush, Hairbrush, Lonely Planet Travel book, printed packet of itinerary. Even then, I had a little bit of room.Smaller pocket on outside of bag: Clif Power Bar, Snickers, Heath Bar, Camera, Cellphone charger and cord, Camera charging cord, Headphones, Wireless Headphones, Earplugs, Kleenex Packet, Sunglasses, and Sleeping Mask.Flap Pocket: Tissues and Restaurant Napkins (for bathroom when there are no tissues)Small pocket on outside of flap: Hand lotion, Hand sanitizer, Suntan Lotion, Advil, and Tums (all items travel sized). This is everything I needed in case my bag got lost. My shoulders never got sore and my bag never got sweaty. This is a must buy. Enjoy!!!
Perfect size, great quality and finish, very light, compact yet spacious, super practical. I would call it a perfect backpack if not for 2 major flaws: 1. Water bottle pockets are not deep enough. They could have tighten them a little to prevent a bottle from falling out. 2. Integrated grab handle rubs against my lover neck making the wear very uncomfortable especially if you want to wear it high and tight when running for example. Many people raised those two issues before but osprey still makes the backpack the same way. What a shame...

I tested out the bag on a small hike and it was wonderful! It was very lightweight even though I was carrying multiple water bottles. The weight distribution seems very good. There's a good pouch on the inside for putting credit cards and keys. There's also an inner pocket that allows you to separate items some. The front zipper part I unfortunately found to be a bit small. The only thing I could put in there really was a packet of tissues. It confused me that there was no easy place to put a cell phone. Another negative was the bottom strap that goes around the belly. It is very small and would only fit around pretty fit, thin women. Someone with a larger stomach wouldn't even be able to use it.PROS:-Lightweight-Great color-Outer pouches for water bottles + straps to make them secure-Can hold a lot of items-Comfortable fitCONS:-No easy, separate pouch for cell phones-Small bottom waist strap-Front zipper pouch too small for varied use
Worked perfectly for my trips to Disneyland andItaly over the summer, this backpack can really fit a lot in it. At one time I would have multiple water bottles, my camera, a jacket, bags of snacks/chips, an umbrella, and more. It held up for the whole 3 weeks of constant wear and rarely felt uncomfortable or heavy while I spent entire days walking.
This backpack is very light and fits a everything I need for a day hike, snacks, lunch, drinks and first aid supplies. I am not an expert in hiking gear but I would say if you need a cheap backpack that can hold your stuff for a day, this one does the job. I don't know whether is waterproof but I wouldn't expect it to be. Probably not the best stuff for serious hikers but great for beginners like me. Would definitely recommend.

I love this bag, not only are the colors vibrant, but the material is amazing. I have back issues and this bag is very light weight. You won’t have to worry about this bag tearing either the thickness of the material is awesome. I highly recommend this product.
The price is right for this travel bag. I use it camping since it has lots of pockets for accessories, and the wet bag is extremely convenient for keeping dirty hiking socks away from my other clothes!

I needed a small bag to use during my gym workouts. This bag holds my cell phone in the front sleeve pocket for quick, easy access. My blue tooth earbud case fits nicely in a side mesh pocket. Supplement tablets are stored in the other side pocket. There are a few decent size inside pockets plus a main storage area. My gloves, towel, and other items fit well inside. As I move around the gym I simply toss the bag on my shoulder and away I go! My search is over and I'm very satisfied! **The only adjustment I made was placing a small folded towel into the base of the bag which allows it to stand up when I set it down on the floor. By the way...I ordered 2! The second bag is used for running around town! Just get one!
My sister has had one for over 2 years and it still looks brand new and it’s very durable so I bought one.I love that the strap can be switched to wear it over the left or right shoulder. I’m looking forward to spring and summer to wear it/use it because it’s annoying to pull over a winter coat. This bag has Sooo much space. Inside the zipper pocket are 2 pockets. The side mesh pockets can hold a water bottle/Monster can with no issues. The non-zip pocket is very deep too.I always feel like I’ve forgotten my keys or wallet; but they are always snug in the bottom. It sort of feels like Mary Poppins bag (waiting to pull a plant out).Only downside- I don’t like the phone pocket on the strap. It’s a very good size -fits an iPhone 6 Plus with a case- but the zipper opens too far/wide. So I feel like my phone will fall out of the opening, while I try to zip it closed. I think a snapping enclosure or two zippers that meet at the top, would reduce that feeling. I just put my phone in one of the mesh pockets; which is easier to access.
I wanted to be able to reach for my phone to take photos and for a water bottle for a drink, without wearing a crossbody purse or a backpack - this is perfect all around! It's light, my phone fits and is easy to grab, and there are plenty of sections for necessities without being bulky. I got the denim blue color - it will go with everything!

I'm new to hiking longer distances that require a day pack, and I was looking at the name brand packs in the 20-40L range. I spent an hour one night trying every pack at REI on several times. They all seemed fine and fit well enough, but for $150+ I felt like they should really make me happy when I put one on and none of them did. I should say, I am a male, 5'9" and weight 210 lbs. I'm not skinny and not ginormous either, but I do have love handles. Anyways, this pack fits about the same as the smaller name brand packs. The construction seems to be just as good so far, but I am sure that some of the materials and stitching are probably not as good as the others.I am not using a bladder, but the side pockets take a 32oz Nalgene bottle with no problems. The internal organization pockets are handy as is stash pocket on the outside. The suspension system has worked well to keep my back cool. The pack obviously doesn't have the lifetime warranty or reputation of something like an Osprey, but for roughly 1/3 the price and for someone who is relatively new, not knowing 100% what I wanted, and only hiking a few times a month I thought that it was a good idea. I've logged about 40 miles with it so far and I am still very happy with it.
This is a neat and tidy pack, a bit heavy for its size, but with a good suspension. However, the slit in the pack through which the bite valve and tube of the drinking bladder are supposed to go is simply too tight for the the bite valve to fit without serious exertion, and, probably, some risk to the bite valve attachment.Every other backpack I own has extra fabric to cover a generous opening, or some other design, and offers no resistance to the valve, and is reasonably weatherproof. The Kailas 30L pack sold on Amazon is better in this regard than the 20L, as the fabric is gathered a bit, and stitched, to make a larger opening, so less force and fiddling are needed to get a bite valve through.I wrote Kailas, and they seem to think that what they have is just fine. It's not, and, with their attitude, it doesn't seem like they'll be fixing this anytime soon. Their suggestion was that I get a different bladder. In fact, I have several bladders, and all their bite valves are either similar or identical. So, anyone seriously planning to be using a pack like this for a hydration system might want to look elsewhere.
I have an Osprey Daylight Plus that I use for travel and occasional hiking, but it doesn't have a ventilated back like some of their more expensive packs so it gets very hot. I found the Kailas and was surprised that the quality is equivalent to the Osprey, but far less expensive. First I noticed they added pockets to the lower waist strap, which is a nice upgrade. The Osprey has a better way of adjusting the chest strap up and down, but if you don't need to change that often, that's not too bad. This pack is nice and light although it is 10 oz. heavier than the Osprey, but it is slightly larger and has the metal support. I like how the metal frame is wire, unlike some others I have seen that use heavier metal straps. The lighter the better. The handle on the top is a little flimsy and much nicer on the Osprey. I like the magnetic latch on the outside, front pocket. All you have to do is get the clip near the other half and it closes by itself. Overall I'm very satisfied with it.
