Whatever happened to justice for all

The recent shootings in Colorado, as horrible as it was, made me ask the question, whatever happened to justice for all?

Someone walks into a theater and starts shooting, that person is arrested. Shortly-there-after the media starts up with its anti-gun articles. The person that killed the people inside the theater will be brought to justice. The liberal media in their attempt to push certain social agendas will use the shooting as a launching point for more gun control.

When Timothy McVeigh blew up the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, did anyone talk about banning trucks, or banning fertilizer? As a truck owner, I can tell you straight up there is no need to give people access to trucks that can carry a ton of explosives. We need to restrict truck access to a limited few. Only delivery companies and transport companies need trucks, everyone else can use a car or SUV.

The government orders U.S. citizens killed in a drone attack, and nobody cares. Anwar Al-Awlaki and his son Abdulrahman al-Awlaki were both killed in a drone attack. They were never granted their right to due process, never brought to trial, never given access to the evidence against them. The CIA sent a drone in and killed both of them. Where is the public outcry? Is obama a serial killer because he ordered US citizens killed with drones? Who else gets away with murder? Only the government.

Why is society shocked when someone goes on a shooting spree? But we tolerate the U.S. government killing citizens?

Where was the outrage for the wife of Randy Weaver? Where was the outrage for Anwar Al-Awlaki and his son Abdulrahman al-Awlaki, both of which were U.S. citizens.

The United States was founded on several principles, one of those principles being “liberty and justice for all”. There is no mention of liberty and justice for certain people, such as the rich, or for Christians only. Its liberty and justice “for all”.

When the government kills people, we turn a blind eye.

When a citizen kills another citizen, the people freak out.

A citizen goes on a shooting spree with an AR15, the topic of gun control comes up.

The government goes on a killing spree, nobody mentions restricting the governments access to weapons.

Government Atrocities

All through out human history we have justified killing other people. The Romans killed millions of Gauls, the Huns invaded Europe and slaughters millions.

The U.S. government slaughtered Native American Indians, rounded up the rest and moved them to reservations.

Germany slaughtered the Jews during WW2.

Joseph Stalin slaughtered millions of people before and after WW2.

The Japanese slaughtered the Chinese.

Julius Caesar waged a war of genocide on the Gauls. In one battle between the Huns and the Romans, an estimated 100,000 men died.

An estimated 1.67 – 2.5 million people died under Pol Pot

,,,,, and the list goes on and on.

Mankind has a habit of killing our own

The theater shooting is a reflection of how cruel we can be towards our own kind.

How is the theater shooting any different then what soldiers did to native American women and children?

How do we excuse the government for killing U.S. citizens without due process, but we demand justice in the theater shootings?

When we look at the theater shooter, we see ourselves. We see an example of how cruel the human race can be.
