Support for gun control fading

Good news ladies and gentlemen.  The Independent Journal Review posted an article detailing how Americans are Getting Tired of Gun Control Pushes. Support for more gun control is waning across all political parties, including liberals and democrats.  This should be common sense, gun control does not reduce violent crime. Criminals do not care about laws. […]

Parents of daughters likely to vote republican

There is an article on yahoo shine about why parents of daughters are more likely to vote Republican than to vote democrat.

While the article is “kind of” insightful, I think it misses the mark. Rather than focusing on core Republican values, the article goes off into left field talking about sex.

Sex is a small part of the issue. The larger issue at hand is this thing called “responsibility.”

The article states,

Parents of daughters, it seems, have an interest in reducing male promiscuity.

Personally, I think male promiscuity has little to do with the issue. The larger issue here is taking responsibility for your actions.

The State Of Social Security Disability

Do you want to know how bad things are? Do you “really” want to know? Chances are, if you pass your time watching sports rather then watching the news, or reading gossip websites rather then reading news websites, you probably do not want to read this article.

Since 2009, an average of 150,000 jobs are created every month inside the United States.

During that same time, an average of 250,000 people apply for Social Security Disability every month.Kevin Felts blogger and survivalist

In other words, 100,000 more people apply for social security disability every month over those that find a job.

Around 14 million people currently draw Social Security disability.

Source14 Million Americans Don’t Work Due To Disability, And The Number Is Growing

The system is broken. 100,000 more people file for SS disability rather then find a job every month. It is just a matter of time before the financial system collapses.

It is impossible for 150,000 workers to support 250,000 people on disability, and that is the direction we are headed.

Child Support Social Inequality

Here we have another example of child support social inequality – the father is ordered not to have anymore kids, but the mothers are not ordered to do anything.

Society points the finger at the father and says – “do not have more kids then you can support.” What does the mother get? Does she ridiculed for having sex with a man that does not want to support the children they made? Is the mother ordered to get a job and provide health insurance?

working on his bar-b-q pit

The last time I went to a child support review, I saw several dads being put on probation, one father was arrested and handcuffed right there in the court room. Some dads were sentenced to 2 years in jail, but the sentence was deferred as long s they were making payments. If they missed a payment he would be arrested and put in jail.

During the time I was sitting in the court room watching these fathers being sentenced, not a single mother was charged with not paying child support. There were several mothers who did not show up for their hearing a bench warrant was issued for their arrest, not a single deadbeat mom appeared before the judge.

Random Thoughts January 27 2013

The nation is screwed, and I mean royally screwed.

National Debt

The government is so far into debt, there is no way future generations can pay off the debt. As of the posting of this article the US Government is $16.4 trillion in debt. With credit card debt and student loan debt, we owe more like $58 trillion.Kevin Felts, blogger and survivalist

We are throwing millions of dollars to illegal immigrants. Between 2009 and 2011 we spent around $91 million on health care for illegal immigrants.

Social Security disability is expected to go bankrupt by 2016.

Congress is looking for ways to allow millions of illegal immigrants to become citizens.

Maybe We Need Less Prisons

Maybe we need less prisons and more reform. Instead of putting people in prisons, or putting them on probation where they have to pay a probation fee, maybe we need more trade schools and colleges?

Maybe we should build a school next to every public housing project? When someone enters public housing they are automatically enrolled in the attached school?

For single parents, child care would be provided so the parent can attend school.

What promoted this post? It was an article on Fox News – European courts spare accused pedophile, hacker from American justice

With over 100 million people receiving welfare, and since our prisons are full, maybe its time to reform society?

Maybe something went terribly wrong in the past 100 years? Something that has to be fixed before society breaks?

Why Do Fathers Disappear From Households

Washington Times has an interesting article about the relationships of fathers and their children – Fathers disappear from households across America. Even though the article is well-written, it is full of fluff. Nowhere did I see the author addressing the root causes of the problem.

Lets narrow the topic down to two points – personal responsibility and criminalization of non-custodial parents.

Personal Responsibility

As an example I am going to use a friend of the family who got knocked up by a guy who already had 4 kids by 4 different women. Lets place the blame where it belongs, on the mothers and the father.

With so many birth control options on the market, why aren’t women protecting themselves from getting knocked up?

Why isn’t the father being more responsible with his seed?

Who is to blame? Both the mother and the father.

Society does not want to point the finger at the mother and ask “why didn’t you protect yourself?” If the mother willingly spread her legs, or bent over, then she must share part of the blame.

Criminalization Of Non-Custodial Parents

I get so sick and tired of having to prove that I have the same rights as my ex-wife. Take my kids to enroll them on school, I have to bring a copy of the divorce decree. I wonder if women have to do the same thing? If a woman enrolls a child in school, do they have to prove they have a legal right to enroll the child?

The USA Is Doomed

Kevin Felts, blogger and survivalistThe United States of America is being bled to death. It will not be long before the bleeding takes its toll, as to which society will have some serious issues to face. Do we stop the bleeding, or do we allow the Federal Reserve to print more money out of thin air?

In the following article I will provide three examples of how the United States is being bled to death from within. All of these examples are based off actual people, and actual events. The names are not being disclosed to protect their privacy.

Example 1

This family has been on some kind of welfare for at least 20 years, and for 2 generations.

The grandmother was on welfare for the birth of all of her children.

The children were raised with medicaid providing health insurance, and food stamps providing nutrition assistance.

When one of the children reached 18 years of age, the grandmother applied for, and received social security disability for the child. So now, the grown child will never have to work, and will receive health care for the rest of its life, and without ever having to work a single day in her life.

How Can People Justify Wasting Food

Walking through walmart today, saw a pack of ground meat and steak sitting on a shelf. The shelf was in the canned goods section, and not the cold foods section.

I picked up the meat, checked to see if it was still cold, then took the two packs to the freezer section.

Is this what humanity has come to, that we can waste enough meat that would feed a family for a day, maybe 2 days, or even 3 days?

The person that left the packs of meat on the shelf, have they gone hungry a single day in their lives?

The person that left the meat on the shelf, were they on food stamps or welfare?

Did the person give a single thought to the animal that had to die to put the meat on the shelf?

What about the cost of raising the animal? The cost of butchering, packing and shipping the meat, did the person give a single thought to all of that?

I Wants Me Some Welfare

I am sick and tired of supporting people who are too lazy, or too stupid to get a job. Why should I work a 40 hour a week job, pay child support, pay for health care, barely scrap by,,, when people on welfare get all kinds of free stuff.

I want me some free food.

I want me some free housing.

I want someone to help me pay my electric bill.

I want the state to pay for my kids health care.

Right now I pay close a little over $600 a month for health care and temporary disability insurance.

I have been working since 1984, and what do I have to show for it? Not too much. I may not make a lot of money, but shouldn’t I be able to keep a good percentage of what I earn?

Health insurance alone takes a HUGE bite out of my pay check. Instead of helping the working class out, taxes and health care cost continue to skyrocket.

You want to know what the problem is? I was raised with this little thing called a work ethic. A work ethic is this concept that I believe I should support myself and my family.

Up until around the 1990s there was a stigma that went along with being on welfare.

Today, it seems that people are proud to be on welfare. I gots me some welfare and food stamps,,,, and people see no issue with that.

Welfare is a form of stealing. The government takes from those that do, and gives to those that do not. Too lazy to work? No problem, here is your housing voucher, cell phone, and food stamps.

Lazy moms cost the economy 100 billion dollars

You want to know what is really nice about our society? We get to demonize certain groups, and then victimize other groups. An example of this is an article posted on CNN – unpaid child support cost tax payers $53 billion.

The article talks about how when the dead beat dad does not pay child support, and the child has to go on public assistance, this cost the tax payers billions of dollars every year.

To be fair to both sides of the issue, lets spin that article around. The article states “41% of households headed by single women are below the poverty level.”

In other words, 41% of households where the woman is too lazy to go to college or learn a trade or sill, those families are below the poverty level.

Instead of saying its the dead beat dads fault that the mom and children are living in poverty, lets lay the blame where it belongs, on the mom. How many of those moms living in poverty have anything besides a high school diploma? How many have a science degree such as engineering or computer sciences? How many of them sit on their butt and expect other people to provide for them?

If the dead beat dad is expected to have a job and support his children, then the dead beat mom should also be expected to have a job. Need more money to take care of your children? Get your ass up, get an education or job skills and get a job.

Do not stand there and complain that they dead beat dad is not providing for the child.

Random Thoughts October 18 2012 State of the Nation

Over the past few weeks I have been posting some of these random thoughts articles. This type of format gives me the chance to address a wide range of topics in a single post.

What I would like to discuss in this post is the state of the nation.

The United States is going to hell in a handbag, and none of the talking heads in Washington seem to care. Either they don’t care, or they have been paid not to care.

Food stamp program has increased 100 percent under President Barack Obama. According to an article on the Daily Caller, food stamp participation is up 100% over the past 4 years.

When obama was elected president the people were hoping for change, but is that the type of change yall were wanting?

Should the rich subsidize the poor

With free trade, and so many companies sending jobs overseas, should the rich subsidize the poor?

If a company can afford to pay its employees well, why shouldn’t said company be required to? Should companies like walmart be required to pay a higher minimum wage then a mom and pop corner store?

Or roads are falling apart, but foxconn in china is hiring tens of thousands of employees.

Then there is the issue with companies like google setting up offices overseas to lower their tax burden.

If companies are going to exploit free trade and tax loopholes, shouldn’t they be required to give something back?

Apple makes a cool billion in profit, but yet a record number of people are on welfare.

Nobody sees an issue with that?

A Nation Greatly Divided

There is an interesting article in the LA Times – Mitt Romney leads a party packed with paranoids and fabulists. The word fabulists simply means liars. In other words, the republican party is filled with paranoid liars.

The cartoon shows an older couple compared to a younger couple. With the younger couple wearing an obama pin.

A few days ago there was a news program talking about how the younger generations are growing more liberal, while the older conservatives are fading away. For example, for the first time in history, less then 50% of the voters say they are Protestant Christians.

Not only is the nation divided by political parties, we are also divided by liberalism and conservatism, and we are divided by religion, or rather the lack of religion.

Why should we bring children into the world

I thought about putting this in off topic, but since the discussion will revolve around the current political situation, I decided to put it here.

If we go back 100, 200, 500, 1000 years we had rampant disease, periodic starvation, wars,,, and people still reproduced.

Today, we live in an oppressive society that is overly regulated.

The US is deep in debt, and has no solution in sight.

Seems every nation and their brother and sister has nuclear weapons.

Cost of living has outpaces wages.

With all of this and more, why would anyone want to bring a child into the world?
