There Is No War On The Poor

Kevin Felts on a hiking trip

One of the common fear mongering tactics Democrats love to use, is to tell low income people Republicans hate them. This creates a us versus them tactic that allows democrats to thrive.

Socialist Democrats go on to tell low income people how Republicans want to see poor people starve and have their benefits taken away. Again, all lies.

The only “war” going in is a war on laziness. Welfare should not be a career path. Nor should generations of families be raised on welfare. To get people off welfare, welfare should be as uncomfortable as possible. This means just the very bare basics.

Chances are, if someone qualifies for welfare, they qualify for free college through the local community college. If someone is in public housing, why aren’t they attending community college? The answer suggest they are to lazy to better themselves.

Democrats Are The Party Of Hate

Contributing to society

In a republic, how much should citizens contribute back to society?

Is there an obligation to contribute?

What should society do about people who “refuse” to contribute?

Lets use 2 groups of people as examples:

1 – criminals.
2 – individuals who make a career out of welfare.*

* There is a difference in someone that uses welfare as a helping hand to get back on their feet, and someone who lives their entire life off the system. This is about people who expect society to provide for them, while returning nothing to very little back.

Society frowns upon criminals, probably because the criminal takes more from society then they contribute.

Historically, society has tolerated and somewhat frowned upon welfare. We know that members of society need a helping hand from time to time. There is no shame in needing help. The shame should come from being too lazy to help yourself.

Another Welfare Parasite Article

Welfare is one of my favorite topics. I have been working since around 1984 when I went to work at Market Basket in Bridge City Texas.

Welfare Parasite 1

A friend of the family works for a utility company. A couple of days ago the friend shared a story about a man whos services were cut off. The services were cut off for a $275 bill.

About 3 days after the services were cut off, the individual walks into the office talking on his i-phone, ask how much the bill is going to be, then tells the person behind the counter that a community outreach program is going to pay the bill for him.

The person behind the counter tells the person the community outreach program will not pay the late fee or the reconnect fee.

The man gets off his i-phone, then pulls out a $100 bill to pay the late fee and reconnection fee.

If you have the money to pay a cellphone bill, then you have money to at least pay “part” of your utility bills.

The United States economy will never recover

From time to time people in the news like to say “The US economy is recovering”. Well, I am here to tell you the economy of the United States will never recover.

As long as we have free trade with nations like China, the US economy will continue to free fall.

The federal reserve and the government can prop the economy up for short periods of time, but these fixes are temporary.

Article on Yahoo News – Lost Middle-Class Jobs Being Replaced by Burger-Flipping and Retail Gigs: NELP Study

For the past 2 decades we have been told the United States job market is shifting from manufacturing to service orientated jobs. Unless you are a doctor, lawyer, banker,,, someone that provides a valuable service, the service job market is going to be low wage jobs.

Intellectual Capacity of Career Welfare Individuals

Kevin Felts political commentator

Last night as I was closing the trap door on the chicken coop, one of the chickens pecked at my hand. I started thinking about the chicken that pecked my hand, and people who make a career out of welfare.

I bought the chick when it was a couple of days old. For the past 5 months I have fed, watered, protected, and even built the chickens (13 chickens in all) a nice coop with an enclosed run.

The way I treated my chickens is “about” the same way the government treats those on welfare. The government feeds, protects and gives welfare recipients a place to live.

Instead of appreciating what has been given to them, both the chickens and the welfare recipients pecks the hand that feeds it.

There is a reason why chickens are called bird brained. They can not comprehend anything outside of their natural instincts.

Where does this leave people who bring crime, drugs and violence into poverty ridden areas? Are those people unable to comprehend what would happen if the government stopped providing those benefits?

When I was closing the coop up, it was right at dark. The chickens were starting to get into the roost and settle down for the night. I took the chicken that pecked at my hand, set it outside the coop on the ground. The chicken did not know what to do. It was on the ground when it knew it was supposed to be in the roost, and it was away from its friends. The chicken just stood there. I picked the chicken up and placed it back into the coop.

What would happen if the government suddenly withdrew welfare benefits? How would the people react that know no other way of life?

Cost of health care pisses me off

survivalistWhy do I have a copay when I pay for health coverage, but the welfare leeches get their healthcare for free?

My wife needs a surgery, so far we are out close to $2,000 just for copays and deductible. What the hell is going on with this nation? Medicare / Medicaid is taken out of my paycheck, but I can not use it? Not only do I have to pay into the medicare/medicaid system, but I also have to pay for my families health care, plus deductibles.

The welfare parasites can sit on their ass at home, never have to look for a job, get free medical coverage, free dental, free vision,,,, all at the tax payers expense.

It pisses me off that I have to pay my insurance + a copay, while people on the medicare system do not have to pay anything, or have to pay very little.

I am not not saying that “everyone” on medicare does not deserve it.

I “am” saying there is a lot of abuse of the system.

Welfare is supposed to be a support system, and not a way of life. The problem is, too many people have made welfare a way of life.

My wife and I know a young lady that is around 18 or 19 years old. A few months ago she squeezed out the families third generation of welfare recipients. Someone explain to my how that is “supposed” to work out? How does society tolerate generations of people to live on welfare?

Generations of welfare parasites

survivalistIf there is one thing that pisses me off more then anything else in this world its a welfare leech. Welfare leechs are parasites that suck the life out of taxpayers. They are too lazy to work, but somehow justify their actions.

I have depression,
I am disabled (but they can do everything else in life just fine),
I have panic attacks,

If you can get out of bed, fix yourself breakfast, walk out to the mail box, get your welfare check, drive to the bank, check your check, go shopping, go home and play on the internet all day, you are NOT disabled.

There is a family that I know who are on their third generation of being welfare parasites.

Think about that for a minute, three generations of receiving benefits from the government. Benefits that people who get up everyday and go to work to pay for.

The least the parasites can do is wash my truck or cut my grass, but then again, if they did that, they could not claim disability.

I get so sick and tired of seeing people buying groceries with their food stamp card, while I have to buy my own groceries.

The breaking point

There is unrest in the streets, the people have had enough, our government is corrupt, our factories are closing, our jobs are shipped to china, price of food is going through the roof,,, how much more can we take?

I think if we continue on the current path, the number of people drawing social benefits, and the number of people out of work will drive this nation to a breaking point.

Local governments will not be able to raise enough tax dollars to support themselves, but the people will continue to demand schools, social programs,,,, until something has to break.

I think there are 2 factors working against the US, free trade and too many social benefit programs.

Culture of entitlement

survivalistAfter Hurricane Katrina made landfall in 2005, I helped out at a refugee center in East Texas for people from New Orleans. We were preforming services for evacuees, such as trying to find them temporary housing, if they needed to see a doctor,,, general stuff like that.

One lady really stands out in my memory. She steps off the transport bus, walks into the reception facility, is handed an application to fill out – ask for her name, address, race,,,, other information so family members can find her – she hands the application back to the person behind the desk (she did not even look at the papers) and ask where she can sign up for welfare and public housing. The lady was not interested in filling out any “extra” paperwork, she just wanted her benefits.

What really got to me was the I am entitled to receive free stuff attitude the lady had. She did not fill out the application until it was handed to her a second time. The lady behind the desk said that she would have to go to the welfare office, and the center did not so that kind of stuff. We were there just to find her temporary housing, and any immediate needs, like if she needs heart medicine and did not have any.
