Define Common Sense Gun Control

Kevin Felts, blogger and political commentator

The bodies of children from the Parkland shooting are not even cold, and gun grabbers are out in force.

Gun grabbing Socialist Democrats are throwing the ever popular buzz words, “Common sense gun control” around as if the words were candy.

Someone explain “exactly” what common sense gun control is.

  • Background checks – in effect since the 1990s.
  • Family violence offenders – check.
  • Felons prohibited from owning a gun – check.
  • People with a history of mental illness – check.

Someone explain where we need more gun control, much less “common sense” gun control.

Gun owners have given up our rights since the 1930s. Those rights were further eroded by the Federal Firearms Act of 1968. Then there was the Brady Bill.

Exactly and to the point, what laws would have prevented the Parkland, Florida school shooting?

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program

Kevin Felts working on his bar-b-q pit

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) has everyone up in arms when President Trump rescinded the program.

The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals problem has been decades in the making, going all the way back to the 1980s and Ronald Regan. Yet, DACA is supposed to be President Trumps fault? This showdown between democrats and Republicans has been decades in the making.

President Obama ruled with a pen. What can done with a pen can be undone with a pen. Rather than getting congress to work together, obama signed an executive order.

The second issue are parents who brought their children to a nation without going through the proper channels. What kind of example did those parents set for the children? “Sure we are breaking the law, so what?”

Liberals Acting Like conservatives

Kevin Felts, blogger and political commentator

Usually, a conservative is associated with someone who resist schange. With that in mind, it is nice to see progressive liberals acting like conservatives.

When it comes to just about anything having to do with changing the obama agenda, liberals act like conservatives and resist change. What are these new found conservatives afraid of? For example, the net worked just fine before 2015. Yet, listen to the progressives at Google and the sky is falling.

Talk about improving healthcare, and new found conservatives protest in droves.

Revise the tax code, new found conservatives protest.

Why are liberals flipping and becoming conservatives? Trump has an agenda, just like obama did. If people opposed the obama agenda, they were called racist. What do we call people who resist Trumps agenda? Maybe call them right wing conservatives?

Democrats Adopting Republican Policies

Kevin Felts political commentator

It is nice to see Democrats adopting republican policies. Maybe democrats are finally coming around to a reasonable way of thinking.

What is really nice, liberal Democrats are not saying a single thing about the shift in democrat policy. Maybe, just maybe, the far left is getting some common sense about them.

What exactly have the Democrats changed their minds on?

Building walls and requiring IDs to vote.

Fences And More Fences

Not only did the Democratic National Convention have a fence around it, they also built a fence between the audience and the platform.

The two fences are symbolic of the three groups of people:

  • Outside the first wall – the illegal aliens.
  • Inside the first wall – the citizens and people who are in the United States legally.
  • On the platform behind two walls – the political elite. These are the people who tell everyone else what to do, but are protected by security and two walls.

2014 Midterm Elections

Kevin Felts blogger and political commentator

2014 midterm elections are over, Democrats lost, Republicans won.

What amazes me is the total deflection by the Democrats. As far as some of the Democrats are concerned, they lost because of some made up reason. According to an article on HotAir, Obama blames his own party for their losses. According to the article Democrats were fighting an uphill battle to start with.

Yes democrats were fighting an uphill battle, because of all the lying obama has done. Where the help for college students? Where is our health care that cost as much as a cell phone bill? Where are the jobs? Where is all the stuff we were promised? They were lies, all lies.

The leader of the Democratic party is not even willing to take partial responsibility for the election results. Maybe, just maybe, people walking out on obama should have tipped him off on how the election was going to end up.

Your own party members and your voters do not want to associate with you. Then you blame your own party for losing the election? Wow, just wow.

Can The Republicans Win In 2016

Kevin Felts, blogger and political commentator

Lets be honest, the democratic party played their cards rather well. The party rallied enough special interest groups to get obama elected the first time, and then reelected.

Will the Republicans be able to win in 2016 or 2020? Until there is a change of leadership in the Republican party, I think they have no chance of winning the white house in the near future.

There are too many special interest groups who vote their interest, rather then voting for the best interest of the nation. The democratic party has appealed to those groups to win their vote.

If we had a candidate that said he was going to end free trade and put people back to work, the career welfare group would be scared to death. There is no way people drawing welfare are going to vote to end those benefits.

Republicans Are Isolating Voters

By demanding tax breaks for the upper crust, and demanding spending cuts for everyone else, the republican party is isolating voters.

Business Insider said Republicans Are Economic Terrorists

As a Republican and Libertarian, I have to ask what are the party leaders thinking?

The nation has overspent since the arms race of cold war. Once the cold war was over, military spending continued to spiral out of control. Coupled with welfare and corporate welfare, we are broke. We are past broke, we are 16 trillion in debt, and climbing, or rather sinking.

Who in their right mind would argue against the rich paying their fair share?

Changing Demographics of the United States

On election day, November 6, 2012 it became clear the voting demographics of the United States has changed. White working class, heterosexual, conservative, are no longer the majority. We are still out here, but we no longer hold the majority of the vote.

Instead of white conservatives holding the majority, a collection of special interest groups and liberals hold the majority.

How did obama win the election? Because he won the votes of liberals, blacks, hispanics, and gays. People are no longer unified behind a common idea. Instead, we are divided along racial, religious, ideology and economic lines.

People no longer vote for what is best for the nation, they vote for their special interest groups.

Hispanics

Why did obama win the hispanic vote? Because he talked about giving millions of illegal immigrants amnesty. A family member of an illegal immigrant voted for his cousin to stay in the nation, and that is why obama won the hispanic vote. Lets not worry about the fact that illegals are breaking the law.

If someone wants to become a US citizen, let them start by following our laws.

Why Did Romney Lose

Here we are post-election scratching our heads and wondering what went wrong. Did obama win, or did romney lose? Obama won the election, but did romney help obama win the election?

The truth is, he should have never made it past the primaries. When the republican party elected romney as their candidate, the election was lost.

The more people learned about romney, the less they liked him.

Romney has too much baggage.

1 – The way romney made his money. There is nothing wrong with making money, it was “how” romney made his money that working class people disagree with.

Romney did not create anything. His investment firms bought, striped and then resold. That is not what made America great.

United States Pushed To The Edge Of No Return

Fishing Southeast Texas B A Steinhagen LakeWith the US debt deal passed, we have been pushed to the edge of no return. The US taxpayer has been beat down, the chains have been shackled and the saddle is about to be put on us. From there, we will be nothing more then debt slaves. So what caused this? Elected politicians acting like a bunch of teenage girls with their daddies credit card, thats what.

Our elected officials have spent, and spent, and spent, and spent, and spent until we are on the edge of bankruptcy. Instead of sending welfare people to college, they are sent food stamps, public housing, and welfare checks. We have built a nation of people who think they are “entitled” to something they did not work for.

Now that the national debt equals our gross domestic product, the US has been pushed to the edge of no return. We have no hope of ever paying our debt off. Over the next few years I foresee the US raising taxes on the middle class, and “maybe” the lower upper class. While big companies still do not pay their fair share and continue to move to china.

China is no longer a peasant nation, they have built an empire by selling cheap products to the US. As long as the US stays in debt, and china continues to buy that debt, there is no hope of return.

Now for a random video about survivalebooks.

Why I vote Libertarian Party

Why do I vote for the Libertarian Party?

Because I vote for real change.

Ezra Pound said, “The technique of infamy is to invent two lies, then get people arguing heatedly over which one of them is true.”

The democrats and the republicans have presented the American people with two lies. The people then argue which lie is the truth.

Do you want to argue about lies, or do you want to vote for real change? And that is why I started voting for the Libertarian Party.

Your ignorance is their strength

Have you ever wondered why the United States is in the shape it is?

Have you ever wondered why China gets most favored trade nation status year after year?

Have you ever wondered where the factories have gone?

Have you ever wondered why everything has “made in china” marked on it?

Have you ever wondered why our taxes are so high?

The answer to those questions, and many more is “your ignorance is their strength”.

The less you know, the better off the corporations and the government are. What allows mega-corporations to send millions of jobs overseas? The answer is simple, the people keep voting the same two political parties into office year after year and decade after decade.

The political atmosphere of the U.S. is like a tennis game. You have two players (the two major parties) who play with the voters like a ball. One political party will hit the ball to the opponents court through bad legislation. Then the party that just received the ball will pass some unpopular laws and hit the voters back across the court.

Human Cattle

Kevin Felts blogger and survivalistThis might piss some of you off, but too bad. If you are a member of the middle class, you are nothing but human cattle. And the bad part, you put yourself there.

The industrial revolution and the formation of unions gave rise to the middle class.

Free trade and unbridled capitalism will destroy the middle class.

One reason why the middle class developed is because companies were forced to pay a liveable wage. A lack of skilled workers and collective bargaining through unions led to higher wages and benefits.

What happens when there is a surplus of labor, and companies can have their products built by cheap overseas labor? Do you really think the middle class will continue to exist?

Where do we lay the blame?

Do we blame the democrats? Do we blame the republicans? Both parties deserve equal blame for the economic situation the U.S. is in.

Valkyrie with Tom Cruise and Political Party Loyalty

Kevin Felts political commentator

This past Saturday my wife and I went to go see Valkyrie with Tom Cruise. The movie was pretty good and gets a rating B+ or A-. Not enough political movies are made of our recent human history. If people will not pay attention to their government, maybe the big screen can help put the facts in front of the people.

Saturday afternoon I was putting some thought into the movie and doing some comparisons. There is a lot of differences between the USA of today and Nazi Germany, but one thing is the same – blind loyalty. In no way is the Nazi party even close to the Republicans and Democrats. Even though the political parties may not have anything in common, the people of Nazi Germany and the people of the USA do have something in common – and that is blind loyalty to a political party.

In the movie Valkyrie it was clear that the people of Nazi Germany had a blind loyalty to the government. In today’s political system, its still the same. There are people that will only vote democratic or republican – no matter what happens. No matter what their elected official does, those people are still loyal to that party.

The Libertarian Party, Our Only Real Answer

Kevin Felts political commentator

How many times do people have to vote for the two major parties before they realize there is no difference?

It took both parties to pass the North American Free Trade Agreement – NAFTA

It took both parties to pass the banking bailout scam.

It took both parties to pass the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade – GATT.

It is taking both parties to continue this war in Iraq.

It took both parties to establish the income tax.

It took both parties to send millions of our jobs to China, Taiwan and India.

It has taken both parties to increase our taxes to where they are today.

Do you realize that the average American spends about 1/2 of their income on taxes?
1. Social Security
2. Medicare / Mediciad
3. Income Tax – both at the state and federal levels
4. Property Tax
5. Sales Tax
6. Fuel Tax on Gasoline
7. FCC charges on your cable TV bill
8. FCC charges on your phone bill

And this is only part of the list.
