No More Newtowns

There is an article on The Daily Beast talking about gun control. What I find interesting is the image used in the article. Someone is holding up a sign that says “No More Newtowns”. The O of no has an AR-15 with a red slash through it.

Its not the protestors, or the sign, or the article that amazes me. What really gets to me is people not placing blame where it belongs, which is on the mentally ill who killed other people.Kevin Felts, blogger and survivalist

Why isn’t the nation debt receiving the same attention as gun violence?

Why isn’t free trade receiving as much attention as gun violence?

Why aren’t mentally ill people receiving as much attention as guns?

Why isn’t corporate crime receiving as much attention has gun control?

The simple answer is people need a scape goat for their problems. Instead of addressing the complex issues, such as the state of mental health in America, lets just ban guns.

Instead of addressing our national debt, high unemployment rates, record number of people on welfare, bank bailouts,,, lets just ban certain types of guns. For some reason banning the manufacturer and sale of AR-15s is going to magically fix the mental health and depression crisis in America? Where does that kind of logic come from?

Lawmakers Ignore Root Cause Of Gun Violence

There is an article on Foxnews that describes how stupid lawmakers are – States, cities mulling own assault-weapon bans, amid doubt over federal action.

The problem is not the guns, the root cause of the issue is mentally ill people and a broke legal system.

Someone walks into a movie theater and starts shooting, someone walks into a school and starts shooting, someone kidnaps a child skins and eats the child,,,, the person has to be mentally ill to act in that manner.

Why do law makers think passing more gun laws will fix the issue?

The real issue, and the root of the problem, is a broken legal system that can not keep mentally defective people off the streets.

If someone shows violent tendencies, or otherwise acts in a manner that is disruptive to the general public, that person is free to roam the streets until they break the law. Even if the defective person breaks the law, unless it was some vile act, chances are the person will be let back on the streets with nothing more then a slap on the wrist.

How Do We Stop Mass Murderers

Kevin Felts, blogger and political commentator

How do we stop mass murderers from picking up a gun and going on a killing spree?

How do we stop people like David Koresh?

How do we stop someone like Jeffrey Dahmer?

How do we stop someone like the Son of Sam killer?

How do we stop someone like president obama from killing U.S. citizens?

How do we stop someone like George Bush jr from detaining people with no due process of law?

What is the between some mass murderers kidnapping someone off the street, and the CIA thugs? Shouldn’t people be safe from not only each other, but also the government?

What makes Hitler and the Nazis any different then the current US government? Nazis rounded up Jews, the U.S. government is rounding up and/or killing people who are accused of being a terrorist. Neither nation afforded their victims due process of law.

Whatever happened to justice for all

The recent shootings in Colorado, as horrible as it was, made me ask the question, whatever happened to justice for all?

Someone walks into a theater and starts shooting, that person is arrested. Shortly-there-after the media starts up with its anti-gun articles. The person that killed the people inside the theater will be brought to justice. The liberal media in their attempt to push certain social agendas will use the shooting as a launching point for more gun control.

When Timothy McVeigh blew up the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, did anyone talk about banning trucks, or banning fertilizer? As a truck owner, I can tell you straight up there is no need to give people access to trucks that can carry a ton of explosives. We need to restrict truck access to a limited few. Only delivery companies and transport companies need trucks, everyone else can use a car or SUV.

The government orders U.S. citizens killed in a drone attack, and nobody cares. Anwar Al-Awlaki and his son Abdulrahman al-Awlaki were both killed in a drone attack. They were never granted their right to due process, never brought to trial, never given access to the evidence against them. The CIA sent a drone in and killed both of them. Where is the public outcry? Is obama a serial killer because he ordered US citizens killed with drones? Who else gets away with murder? Only the government.

Assassination of Anwar al-Awlaki

Kevin Felts political commentator

Since when is it ok to kill US citizens without due process? With the assassination of Anwar al-Awlaki, I guess its open hunting season on people who speak out against the US Government.

Where do we draw the line?

Was Anwar al-Awlaki on the street shooting people? No, he was not. He was on the internet, talking. Since when is talking a crime? I thought political speech was protected for US citizens? Maybe freedom of political speech is only protected when its not “too” critical of the government.

Maybe the government has a sliding scale to judge if someone is “too” radical. If the person scores high in the scale, they will be put to death like a rabid dog? Who gets to make the scale? Who gets to determine who lives and who dies.
