Random Thoughts February 27 2013

We have a lot to talk about. Rather then break these topics down into individual post, lets jut make another random thoughts post.

Colorado has gone off the deep end with gun control. This time they want to make make sellers of semiautomatic rifles responsible for the actions of the end users.  It’s laughable what the gun hating liberals are trying to push through.  Making gun sellers responsible, is like making Ford, Toyota or GM responsible for drunk drivers.Kevin Felts, blogger and survivalist

Feinstein’s ‘assault weapon’ ban goes to committee.  When is the government going to address the real cause of gun violence?  Our nation is being overran with debt, banks are getting a steady handout of $85 billion a month from the federal reserve, Iran is working its way to becoming a nuclear power,,, and Dianne Feinstein is worried about gun control?  Holy crap, really?

A buddy of mine passed away, his memorial service is going to be March 2.

AR-15 prices are slowing coming down.  Instead of a colt 6920 costing $3,000, prices are down to around $2,000.  Other brand name ARs are floating around double their price before Sandy Hook.

Sanctions Against Iran China To The Rescue

Sanctions against Iran will not work.  Obama has been saying “give sanctions a chance”, when we know for a fact sanctions will not and can not work.

Russia Today posted an article saying China is buying oil from Iran.  With money flowing in from China, Iran is free to pursue its nuclear ambitions.

In another news article, Iran is moving to upgrade its centrifuges. Which means improved enrichment far above those needed for nuclear power reactors and medical devices.

Whether Iran plans on building a nuclear weapon remains to be seen.

In another article I talked about possible conflicts the US may be facing between 2013 and 2020.  My personal opinion, the Wall Street and the international bankers need something big to prevent China from becoming a world economic power house.  If the international bankers can not crash the economy of China, the only other option is a physical conflict.

China fueling Irans nuclear program is the excuse the US government needs to strike Iran and possibly spark a large scale war.

When Europe voted to boycott oil from Iran, this meant China could get all of the oil it wanted, and at a good price.

Replay of World War II

1930s Germany

Part of the surrender of Germany after World War I was the Treaty of Versailles, which forced Germany to pay reparations.

When Hitler came into power he refused to pay the reparations ordered under the Treaty of Versailles. When this happened, there was an economic boycott called against of Germany. Which was an attempt to bankrupt Germany and force the nation to pay the reparations.

The Daily Express of London, March 24, 1933 issue, described how powerful international financial interests had launched an economic boycott of Germany.

With Germany struggling financially the people looked for scapegoats, which turned out to be the jews.

Iran Today

As the EU has voted to boycott oil exports from Iran, Iran is being pushed into a financial corner. Since oil is Irans main source of income, this decision could have been financially devastating for the nation.

China steps in, buys oil from Iran, which in turn provides the nation the money it needs to continue its nuclear program.

Random Thoughts November 16 2012

Time for another random thoughts post.

The Amazing Spider-man

Bought The Amazing Spider-man for the grandkids to watch. The grandkids are between the ages of 3 and 5 and were not interested in Spider-man. But they can watch The Avengers all day long.

Why did Sony have to go back to Spider-man having an artificial web?

I thought The Amazing Spider-man was a rather bland.  I like how they got away from the Green Goblin and introduced The Lizard.  The original Spider-man movies seem to stuck on the Green Goblin.

Wages Today

A few days ago I was thinking about how much money I was making in the welding shops. In 1987 the top pay of the welding shop I was working at was $11.13 an hour. Minimum wage was $3.35 an hour.

11.13 divided by 3.35 = 3.3223.

In other words, top pay in the welding shop was 3.3223 times minimum wage in 1987.

In 2004 I checked back at that same welding shop, top pay was only around $14 an hour, which was less then 3X minimum wage at the time of $5.15. In other words, wages have not kept up with inflation or minimum wage.

Who will be our next enemy

As General Patton once said, “Americans love to fight.”  So what happens when we run out of people to fight?

Since World War II we have been in some kind of conflict with “someone”.

1940s – Germany, Japan and the start of the cold war.

1950s – Korea, and the cold war.

1960s and early 1970s – Vietnam and the cold war.

1980s – cold war came to an end.

1990s – Bosnian War, Gulf War and various smaller conflicts.

2000s to present – war on terror.

2012 and beyond – we are running out of terrorist to kill.  The American people are putting the 9/11 attacks behind us, people are getting bored of drone strikes, Bin Laden is dead,,, now what?

Example from the Walking Dead

For you Walking Dead fans out there, do remember when Shane died at the end of Season 2?  Do you know “why” Shane had to die?

Shane had to die so an even worse villain could be introduced, which turned out to be the Governor.

Ahmadinejad full 2012 UN speech

Thank you Russia Today for uploading this video to youtube.

As usual,Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is spewing forth all kinds of gibberish.

I agree with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on bin laden; bin laden should have been brought to trial instead of killing him.

Everyday Iran continues its nuclear program, its a step closer to another war in the middle east.

Will Netanyahu bring about the destruction of Israel

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past few years, it should be pretty clear that tensions between Israel and Iran are going to reach a boiling point.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has called for the destruction of Israel, while at the same time working on Irans nuclear program. This should be pretty simple, hatred + means = war.

On the flip side of the coin, we have Benjamin Netanyahu calling for a military strike on Iran. The strike would have the purpose of either destroying Irans nuclear capability, or setting progress back a few years.

In other words, we have two nations that want to destroy each other.

Israel says it only wants to destroy Irans nuclear program.  Regardless of the reason for an attack, an attack is still an attack.

Now for the larger problem, Benjamin Netanyahu seems to be the main instigator in attacking Iran. It seems that everyone and their brother and sister does not want to attack Iran, maybe they realize the conflict would soon cross borders, everyone that is besides Benjamin Netanyahu.

China and Russia have both warned the US not to attack Iran. It seems Israel is ignoring the warnings from a couple of nuclear superpowers.

If Israel were to attack Iran, it would be physically impossible for Israel to maintain the conflict. Israel does not have the landmass or natural resources to maintain a prolonged conflict.

Israel attacks Iran, Israel starts to get the crap beat out of it, the US has to step in to prevent the destruction of Israel.

Egypt and Libya recently went through a civil war. It appears that the powers that were at least neutral in the Arab VS Jew conflict have now been replaced with sharia law types of Muslims.

Lets say that Israel attacks Iran, do we “really” expect Egypt and Libya to sit by and watch?

Ambassador Chris Stevens was killed during an attack on the Libyan consulate. Some people say the attack was related to the video “innocence of the muslims”, others say the attack was coordinated and a terrorist attack. In Yemeni, protestors stormed the embassy.

Israel trying to draw a line with Iran

Netanyahu seems to be getting a little desperate in his attempts to attack Iran, in that he wants to draw a line in the sand. If Iran crosses that line, then the world (mainly the USA) would take military action against Iran.

Sure is funny how Netanyahu wants to go to war, when the majority of people fighting will be Americans.

If Israel is so worried about Iran, why dont Israel do something about Iran and leave the rest of the world out of this?

This line in the sand is nothing more then a trying to back the US into a corner. Netanyahu keeps trying to get the world (especially the US) to attack Iran, and for what?

The growing Iran problem

Sooner or later something will have to give with Iran.  If something does happen, it better happen sooner then later.

What happens when a rogue nation positions itself where an attack would be counter-productive.

Sanctions are not going to work. But things are going to reach a head where “something” has to be done. Israel does not have the ability to sustain an extended war with iran.

Now that the Muslim brotherhood has taken power in Egypt, any attack on Iran by Israel might cause Egypt to attack Israel.

If we can not secure our borders to stop illegal immigrants from walking into the nation, how are we supposed to stop a nuclear device?

The US government has been very irresponsible with securing our borders.  Millions of illegal immigrants have walked across the border.  What is to stop a terrorist organization from driving a nuke from mexico and into one of the border states.

Then there is internal security. How many of our dams are secure? How about our bridges? How about our power plants and refineries?

One might argue that it would be stupid for Iran to use a nuclear weapon. But since when do people with radical religious views use logic?

I understand your point. But we are talking about a nation that hangs homosexuals.

There are radicals out there that believe the world is to be ruled by sharia law. We can not reason with people like that.

Worse case situation, Iran is allowed to develop nuclear weapons, Israel attacks Iran, Iran nukes Israel.

Jews and Muslims have been fighting each other for thousands of years. The introduction of nuclear weapons escalates that conflict to a whole new level.

The Obama Iran and Islam issue

Over the past few years there have been hundreds of news articles talking about iran developing nuclear weapons.

The question I have, why hasn’t obama done something about iran?

There has been news article after news article saying the sanctions are not working.  Iran continues to develop its nuclear program, and nothing is being done about it.

The answer I have arrived at, obama does not want to harm the muslim community because of obamas ties to islam.

The next question I have is, how long will obama let iran work in its nuclear program?

The answer I have come up with, obama has no intentions of doing anything about iran.

It appears to me that obama does not want to do anything about iran

He is going to sit on the fence for as long as he can, then pass the problem to the next president.

This fence sitting gives iran much needed time to develop its nuclear program.

If obama favors islam, why did he have bin laden killed? To win favor with israel and the american public.

With bin laden dead, it “appears” that obama is taking a strong stance against radical islam.

In reality, a nuclear iran is a worse threat then bin laden could have ever hoped to be.

How can obama have bin laden killed, but say that he is taking a stance against radical islam? Iran is about as radical as you can get.

Where does this leave israel

I figure obama is going to try and appease israel by giving them defensive weapons, such as patriot missiles and more military weapons.

obama is going to do everything in his power to make sure israel does not attack iran.

Its the same story over and over, give sanctions time to work. More like obama hopes the sanction story will last long enough for him to get out of office.

Someone will rise and replace bin laden

What would have happened if hitler never rose to power? Some people estimate stalin would have caused world war II.

With bin laden dead, this leaves a vacuum for someone to rise up and fill his shoes.

Bin laden should have been left alive

It is better that our enemy is led by a frail old man, then a young energetic man.

Worried about a war with Iran

Guys and gals, I am worried about the U.S. attacking Iran, and then the crap hitting the fan.

Let me rephrase that, I am worried about how Russia and china will react if Iran is attacked.

* During this article china will not be capitalized. As I have no respect for a communist government that oppresses its people.

Russia nor china want permanent U.S. bases in the middle east. An attack on Iran might be viewed as imperialism on part of the U.S. Meaning, we are encroaching closer and closer to Russia and china.

As Russia and china are backed into a corner, sooner or later something will have to give. If something gives, how well is the U.S. and the general public prepared for an all out war with a major world power?

Are the people ready to be rationed food?
Are the people ready to be rationed fuel?
Are the people ready to have their lives disrupted?
Can the U.S. afford another war?

As nations start to compete for resources, Iran is a gold mine.

Step 1 – demonize Iran so that the U.S. public think they have no other choice then to go to war. Its either go to war, or allow Iran to go nuclear.

Step 2 – invade Iran, enter into another decade long war in the middle east.

With the U.S. pulling out of Iraq and Afghanistan, we need a way to replace the military bases we are losing. How are we going to replace those military bases? By invading Iran.

20 years in the middle east

We have spent close to 22 years in the middle east, late 1990 – 2012. the question is, “why” have we been in the middle east for 20 years? It is not because of the twin towers. After Bin Laden was killed, the twin towers should not be an issue.

The U.S. is nothing more then an occupying force in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The war has been fought, the leaders of the opposition defeated, so why are we still there?  My personal opinion, the U.S. is in the middle east for 2 reasons:  Military bases and access to natural resources.

Military bases in the middle east – we have bases that surround Russia and china.  Think about it, we have military bases from Alaska all the way to Poland.  china and Russia are surrounded by U.S. military bases.

How long will china and Russia allow the U.S. to encroach upon their borders until some kind of military action is taken?

Is obama going to start a war with Iran

My opinion, two things that can save the election for obama:

1 – create a threat to the US so severe that it can not be ignored.

2 – eliminate the threat.

The threat I see obama creating is a nuclear Iran. Not that Iran is “really” developing nuclear weapons, its that obama might tell the US that Iran has nuclear weapons as part of a propaganda program.

One issue that everyone seems to be ignoring is that Iran has been open about its nuclear program. UN observers have been allowed into Irans nuclear enrichment facilities, so far everything has been an open book to the whole world.

Is iran developing a nuclear weapon? I am sitting on the fence to answer that question.

If iran was developing a nuclear weapon, why are UN observers allowed into the country?

Attacking iran opens a whole can of worms with china and india, both of whom get a good bit of their crude oil from Iran. If obama gives the order to attack iran, how will china and india react?

Another question, would obama be willing to risk starting a world war to stay in office?

Lets say that obama attacked Iran, china sees this as an attack on the national security of china, so china attacks the US. What would happen to the elections? Could the elections be suspended during times a war or national crisis?

Post your comments in this forum thread about is Obama drifting towards war with Iran?

What would war with Iran mean

The writing is on the wall with Iran, China, and the past 20 years of free trade policy with china. The US has positioned itself in a corner of weakness.  No longer are we a world leader.  More like, the US is the laughing stock to the rest of the world.  We willingly give our factories and technology away so companies can exploit cheap labor, all in the name of maximizing profits.

Our growing dependence on china is going to come back and bite us in the butt.

Part 1

Israel may strike Iran sometime this spring or summer – I got a bad feeling about this.

Ayatollah Khamenei says the enemies of Islam and the Great Satan (The US) will soon be defeated.

Iran warns world of coming great event

Chinas dependance of oil

China and India both rely on crude oil from Iran. Anything that disrupts the supply of crude to either India or china will cause ripples in the economies of those nations.

The economy of china is slowing down, mainly due to the US being in a recession.  Disrupting the supply of crude oil could be seen as an attack on the nation security of china.  How would the US feel if russia bombed Canada, causing the crude to stop following, which caused gas prices to spike, further repressing the economy.

This is my personal opinion, so take this with a grain of salt, or maybe even a truckload of salt.

I feel that Iran has positioned itself to be made a victim.  Iran is supposed to be developing nuclear power plants for peaceful purposes, but everyone else seems to disagree.

Why would Iran make itself out to be a victim?  To rally support, and have other nations come to its aid. Playing the victim is one of the first steps of jihad.

What I fear, if any nation strikes iran, china will jump in to protect its supply of oil.

I can see China sending anti-air missiles to Iran to protect the oil fields and refineries. Hopefully, no chinese troops will be involved.

The US is in no position to be in disagreement with china. China supplies a massive amount of our electronics. To cut off that supply of products would have a devastating effect on the US economy in the short term.

In the long term, cutting off a supply of products from china might help the US economy, as it would spur construction of new factories to replace the products from china.

The main question I ask myself, can the US fight an extended war with only our onshore manufacturing plants? In other words, “if” we went to war with someone like China, and we were no longer receiving shipments of computer parts, engine parts, computers, raw materials,,, how long could the US sustain its wartime efforts.

Post your comments in this forum thread about the coming conflict with china and iran.
