Why major media dropped Arapaho school shooting

Posted by Kevin Felts On December 20, 2013 1 Comment

On December 13, 2013 Karl Pierson walked into Arapaho high school, shot one student and then killed himself.

Usually this would have been major news for weeks, with anti-gun advocates coming out of the woodwork like roaches. There should have been renewed calls for gun control with president Obama addressing the nation for the need for tighter restrictions and background checks.

So what makes this school shooting different?

The shooter used a shotgun.

The shooter legally bought the firearm.

Shooter was left leaning communist democrat

A good guy with a gun put a quick end to the violence.

Why Dont People Address The Real Cause Of Gun Violence

Posted by Kevin Felts On February 21, 2013 0 Comments

While browsing the net I landed on yet another gun control article. That article, like so many others does not address the root causes of gun violence.

Obama has thrown a fake bone to the gun hating liberal dogs. As they slobber all over it, the liberals are too dumb to realize its a fake bone.

Does the bone address repeat offenders?

Does the bone address gang and drug related crime?

Does the bone address protecting our borders from illegal drugs?

Wired Article On Ammunition And Gun Violence

Posted by Kevin Felts On February 14, 2013 0 Comments

I used to respect wired as a credible source of information, that was until I read an article about controlling ammunition to reduce gun violence. The logical of controlling ammunition to reduce gun violence, is like saying we can stop drunk drivers by reducing the amount of gasoline on the market.

Once again lets just ignore the root cause of the majority of gun violence, and that is criminals and drugs. Law abiding citizens do not use gun in crimes, that is the reason why people who use guns during a crime are called criminals.Kevin Felts, blogger and survivalist

If the government truly wanted to do something about gun violence, fix the broken criminal justice system, stop the flow of drugs into the US and break up gangs. What do the majority of gun related deaths have in common? They are either drug of gang related.

Broken Justice System

Our criminal justice system does not reform people. Prisons are nothing more then a warehouse for the mentally ill. Someone would have to be mentally ill to inflict violence upon others.

Surprised By The Gun Haters

Posted by Kevin Felts On January 15, 2013 2 Comments

One thing that has surprised me after the Sandy Hook shooting is all of the hatred towards guns. This is not your typical “we need to ban guns” type of hatred that we see after a shooting, this is unbridled hatred.

This is the nazi and the jews type of hatred, pit bull attacks a baby type of hatred,,,,. If those people could, they would take every gun away, and that is absolutely crazy. Crazy that logical people have a knee jerk reaction to a tragic event.Kevin Felts, blogger and survivalist

Instead of placing the blame on the root cause of the gun violence issue, gun haters blame the tool. That is like blaming Snap-on for someone drinking and driving.

If the people are not united, can we survive as a nation?

After Waco and the Branch Davidian stand off, did gun haters want religion control?

After the financial collapse of 2008, did the gun haters want banking control?

With so many pit bull attacks every year, are the gun haters calling for pit bull control?

President Obama is having US citizens killed with no due process of law, are the gun haters outraged about that? Probably not.

Threat Must Be Neutralized

Posted by Kevin Felts On January 3, 2013 0 Comments

Kevin Felts, blogger and survivalistHere is a concept I want to share with you. All of this talk about gun control is not about protecting the public, its about the law makers being scared. Law makers are scared someone will walk into their building and start shooting. Instead of students laying on the ground dead, lawmakers envision themselves being dead.

If law makers truly cared about the health and well being of the public, why is smoking still legal? Why can companies dump chemicals and nothing is done?

If law makers cared about the public, why are fish contaminated with mercury?

Gun control is not about protecting the public. If the government wanted to protect the public, outlaw cigarettes and other tobacco products. Outlaw chemicals that have been linked to attention disorders in children.

Gun control is about protecting congress from people who are fed up with government.

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. People are fed up with high taxes, people are fed up with the government bailing out the banks, people are fed up with the government protecting wall street,,,, people are fed up.

Instead of worrying about gun control, maybe congress needs to stop bailing out wall street. That way law makers will not have a guilty conscience.

Armed citizens are the threat to an out of control government. That threat must be neutralized.

Chuck Woolery on Assault Weapons

I had no idea who Chuck Woolery is until I saw this video, found his website and looked him up on wikipedia.

I wish my speaking skills were as good as his, but my southeast Texas accent makes me sound like a redneck, or so I have been told anyway.

Tragedy Brings Out The Stupids

Posted by Kevin Felts On December 17, 2012 0 Comments

Kevin Felts, blogger and survivalistIn the debate about gun control, there is no lack of stupidity.

With the renewed call to outlaw, ban and/or restrict military style weapons, we need to keep something in mind.

The military does not buy enough M-4/M-16 rifles to keep the gun manufacturers in business. The civilian market is what keeps gun makers afloat.

Why should we care if a gun manufacturer goes out of business?

Who is going to make the firearms we need in times of war?

Sooner or later there is going to be another world war; do we want to run into a situation where our troops do not have access to the weapons they need?

Colt is currently the supplier of M-16/M-4 rifles to the military. In times of need the military could buy from any of the other AR-15 manufacturers on the market.

So lets just go ahead and drive firearms manufacturer out of business. Then lets whine and complain when our troops are using rifles left over from world war II.

What do just about all of the mass shooters for the past 20 years have in common? They were mentally ill.

It takes a mentally ill person to shoot children, so that should be a given. If these were sane rational people, they would have shot up congress.

Doesn’t it make sense to deal with the mental issues, instead of guns?

If society had some kind of social safety net, someplace where mentally ill people could be kept. Not a prison, not an insane asylum,,, something where mentally ill people could be kept safe, receive the treatment they need and protect society as a whole.

Lets treat the root issue of gun violence, and that issue is mental illness.

My Theory On Why Americans Are So Violent

Posted by Kevin Felts On December 3, 2012 1 Comment

Here is my theory on why Americans are so violent, and its not that we love violence. When given the chance, most people pick peace and quiet over violence.

If we prefer peace over violence, why do so many people prone to violence?

My opinion, there are two factors that promote violence in our society:

1, The lack of upward mobility.

2, Violence is a learned social behavior.

There is an article on Live Science saying Murder May Spread Like Infectious Disease. That article discusses a couple of important factors, one factor says that murders are more likely to be committed in low income neighborhoods.

If you track murder like a disease, it spreads and burns itself out. But if you look at the tracking on a map, higher income areas have a lower murder rate then lower income areas.

New Debates on Gun Control

Posted by Kevin Felts On July 24, 2012 2 Comments

The shootings in Aurora Colorado has brought the liberals out in force. As the liberal crap storm for more gun control whips into a feeding frenzy, I see a common pattern, and that is the spread of incorrect information.

One opinion said the AR was designed for killing at close range. In the military trials, bullet performance was judged at 200 meters. How is 200 meters close range?

Another opinion piece said high capacity magazines have no place in hunting. I don’t guess the author has ever seen the videos of people hunting wild hogs from helicopters. I don’t guess the author saw pictures of the LA riots where store owners were protecting their property with semi-auto rifles and high capacity magazines.

Liberals argue only the police and military should have firearms. And what, turn the U.S. into a police state? Our forefathers wanted to ensure the people have the ability and the right to rise up against the government. If the U.S. government becomes oppressive to the people, the people have the ability to fight back. When a protestor shows up with an AK47, I bet the police will be a a lot less likely to take measures against the crowd.

It is true that the AR15/M16 were designed for war, they have purposes in time of peace as well. For example, the AR15 rifle is being used to control the wild hog populations in south Texas.
