History will hold us responsible

survivalistI was watching some program on History channel, or Discovery channel today about World War II. The program talked about what the Allied soldiers saw when one of the concentration camps were liberated.

After the camps weres liberated, the people from the nearby town were ordered to help bury the dead. The people of the town said they had been lied to by the nazi party.

The narrator of the program said the people of the towns were liars and as guilty as sin.

If the people living in the towns near the concentration camps were guilty, what does that make the citizens of the U.S.?

Will history look back and compare the United States government to the nazi party over our human rights violations?

What difference is there between the way the nazis treated the Jews, and the way the U.S. government treated Blacks and Native Americans?

nazis rounded up Jews and sent them to concentration camps.

United States government rounded up Native Americans and sent them to reservations.

nazis treated jews as subhuman.

United States government treated Blacks and Native Americans as subhumans.

Blacks were treated as property that were bought and sold on the open market.

The lack of humanity by the government

angelina river jasper texasThis is just my personal opinion, but I have always felt that certain people in the Government lack a sense of humanity. When developing biological weapons, did the scientist ever ask themselves if they should “really” develop the weapons? When the companies were making land mines, was there ever a discussion on their impacts on people after the war. While coal burning plants contribute to mercury contamination of fish and our waterways, the government sits on its hands and does nothing. While gas companies buy up green energy patents, only to do nothing with them, the government does nothing. While people are held without a trial and tortured in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, the people in power give their stamp of approval.
