The Second Amendment Is Not About Hunting

AR-15 SHTF Survival Rifle

In the gun control community there is a popular statement that has been repeated for decades – “Nobody needs a 30 round magazine for hunting.” Another statement is – “Nobody hunts with an AR-15.” Then the classic – “Nobody needs an AR-15 to defend their family.”

What those people do not understand, the Second Amendment is not about hunting, and it only slightly about protecting ones home and family.

The true nature of the Second Amendment is for the people of the United States to be armed to protect themselves from their government and from invaders.

Who was the militia? Every able-bodied male.

Even though congress passed laws changing the militia from armed volunteers to the national guard, the intent of the Second Amendment remains.

The founding fathers wanted to the people to be armed in order to resist a tyrannous government. This is a last ditch effort so the people may protect themselves.

What happens when people are disarmed? Ask the 100 million people Communism killed in the 20th century alone.

Why Do People Give Their Rights Away

Kevin Felts, blogger and political commentator

It is a simple question, “Why do people want to give their rights away?” This is everything from gun control, to taxation. Overtime, people, including our ancestors, slowly gave our rights away.

Take the income tax for example. Who in their right mind is stupid enough to allow the government to tax their income? Replies may be along the lines of how the income tax was supposed to be voluntary. Or that the income tax was supposed to only affect the rich.

Income Tax

Once the income tax amendment was passed, it opened the flood gates for government abuses. For decades the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has been used as a political weapon. All of this was voted on by the states and the people who allowed the Sixteenth Amendment (Amendment XVI) to the United States Constitution to come into existence.

The Lost Spirit of Freedom

Kevin Felts blogger and political commentator

During the Battle of San Jacinto April 21, 1836, 9 Texans died, compared to the 1,360 Mexicans who lost their lives. The fighting quickly went from rifles to hand-to-hand. As the Texans overwhelmed the Mexicans, the Mexicans fled into the swamps and marshes.

In the book The Raven: A Biography of Sam Houston, it is noted some of the Mexicans were screaming “Me no Alamo !” as Texans gave the Mexicans the same quarter that was shown at the Alamo and Goliad.

The battle only lasted about 18 minutes. But the slaughter continued for an hour or so after the main battle ended.

After Santa Anna was captured he was treated with the upmost respect by Sam Houston.

Sam was wounded during the battle and almost died from infection.

I feel that this kind of spirit is mostly dead. As Bain said in Dark Knight Rises, “victory has defeated you.” We have allowed ourselves to become weak and complacent.

Chances are the founding father would have revolted over an income tax, must less the federal reserve, gun control and various excessive taxation.

Americans have grown fat and lazy. We no longer care about freedom, but instead are content in our subjugation.

Are Gun Hating Liberals Stupid

Kevin Felts, blogger

Lets just go ahead and say it, are gun hating liberals stupid? Did they sleep through US history while in high school and college? Did they sleep through the various government classes at school? Do they never watch the History channel? Do they never celebrate the 4th of July?

If gun haters had paid attention during history class they may have understood why the 2nd Amendment ensures the right of the people to keep and bear arms – so we will never be subjugated. We are citizens, not subjects.Kevin Felts, blogger and survivalist

Do the gun haters think the British let the founding fathers form a nation? Exactly “how” did the United States come into being? I am pretty sure George Washington and Benjamin Franklin did not blog the Red Coats into leaving.
