Free Trade Will Kill The United States Economy

Generator and welding machine in back of truck

With the advent of World War II America recovered from the greatest depression the US had ever seen.

With the advent of free trade, America will once again return to economic dark ages.

The engineers of free trade agreements said the jobs lost to cheap overseas labor will be replaced by high paying service sector jobs.

Service Sector Jobs Do Not “create” Anything

Tech jobs design stuff, such as routers, switches and software, but we need working people to make those items. Who is going to assemble the circuit boards? How is going to install the circuit boards?

In other words, we need hands-on people to assemble those products.

We need ship builders, we need people to build bulldozers, build DVD players, make clothes,,,,. It is those jobs that support the middle class.

Is a financial analyst going to pour asphalt on the weekends? How else are roads supposed to be built? Someone has to operate the equipment. Someone has to build the equipment that pours the asphalt.

What about the heat exchangers, cooling towers, pressure vessels, separation towers,,, are tech jobs going to build those items?

Is the United States prepared for a major conflict

Infrastructure – Have you been keeping up to date on our infrastructure? We can not even keep our bridges updated, how are we supposed to fight a war with a major world power?

How many power plants have been built in the past 25 years? Not enough to stop rolling blackouts in peak summer months. If we can not even keep the lights on, how are we supposed to fight a war?

How many steel factories have been closed over the past 30 years?

Do we have the capability to make enough steel to build ships?

Shipyards – How many shipyards have been closed in the 1980s? Maybe dozens. Shipyards all along the gulf coast have been closed and demolished over the past 30 years.

In the early 1980s as the U.S. started importing more oil from OPEC, the need for offshore drilling rigs declined.

Two major shipyards in the southeast Texas area closed in the 1980s – Livingston shipyard in Orange Texas and Bethlehem shipyard in Beaumont Texas. Both shipyards were stripped and the equipment sold off to the highest bidders.

The old American Bridge yard in Orange Texas is still in place.

United States Pushed To The Edge Of No Return

Fishing Southeast Texas B A Steinhagen LakeWith the US debt deal passed, we have been pushed to the edge of no return. The US taxpayer has been beat down, the chains have been shackled and the saddle is about to be put on us. From there, we will be nothing more then debt slaves. So what caused this? Elected politicians acting like a bunch of teenage girls with their daddies credit card, thats what.

Our elected officials have spent, and spent, and spent, and spent, and spent until we are on the edge of bankruptcy. Instead of sending welfare people to college, they are sent food stamps, public housing, and welfare checks. We have built a nation of people who think they are “entitled” to something they did not work for.

Now that the national debt equals our gross domestic product, the US has been pushed to the edge of no return. We have no hope of ever paying our debt off. Over the next few years I foresee the US raising taxes on the middle class, and “maybe” the lower upper class. While big companies still do not pay their fair share and continue to move to china.

China is no longer a peasant nation, they have built an empire by selling cheap products to the US. As long as the US stays in debt, and china continues to buy that debt, there is no hope of return.

Now for a random video about survivalebooks.

Something to consider on gun control

As usual, after the Aurora Colorado shooting the anti-gun lefties are whipping into a feeding frenzy. The crazies are asking how people can order so much ammunition over the internet, or how someone can collect an arsenal of guns without the federal government asking. It is really sickening to see all of the anti-gun propaganda out there.

Lets have a discussion on gun control, but this time from a financial VS national security point of view.

I figure any liberals or socialist reading this will not care what I have to say, but here goes anyway.

In 2006 shooters and hunters spent $3.7 billion.

Now lets say that the government goes crazy and bans all kinds of rifles, shotguns and pistols. the restrictions are so tight that people just stop buying guns. We all know that the end point of gun control is the complete abolishment of all privately owned firearms. Liberals probably masturbate to some kind of end-game law on firearms.

For grins and giggles, lets say firearms are only sold to police and military

Worried about a war with Iran

Guys and gals, I am worried about the U.S. attacking Iran, and then the crap hitting the fan.

Let me rephrase that, I am worried about how Russia and china will react if Iran is attacked.

* During this article china will not be capitalized. As I have no respect for a communist government that oppresses its people.

Russia nor china want permanent U.S. bases in the middle east. An attack on Iran might be viewed as imperialism on part of the U.S. Meaning, we are encroaching closer and closer to Russia and china.

As Russia and china are backed into a corner, sooner or later something will have to give. If something gives, how well is the U.S. and the general public prepared for an all out war with a major world power?

Are the people ready to be rationed food?
Are the people ready to be rationed fuel?
Are the people ready to have their lives disrupted?
Can the U.S. afford another war?

As nations start to compete for resources, Iran is a gold mine.

Step 1 – demonize Iran so that the U.S. public think they have no other choice then to go to war. Its either go to war, or allow Iran to go nuclear.

Step 2 – invade Iran, enter into another decade long war in the middle east.

With the U.S. pulling out of Iraq and Afghanistan, we need a way to replace the military bases we are losing. How are we going to replace those military bases? By invading Iran.

Effects of Globalization on Global Conflicts

With tensions with china and the U.S. on the rise, what would happen if we went to war with china?

When you buy a product, do you read to label to see where it was made? How many “made in china” products do you see? I am willing to bet the majority of products you buy are made in china.

What do you think would happen if everything made in communist china was suddenly cut off from the U.S market?

Clothes, computer parts, shoes, toys,,,,, just about everything we consume is made in Asia.

What would stores like Best Buy and Walmart do without shipments of made in communist china products? How would the public react if they could not buy the latest and greatest tech toys? How would the auto industry react if they could not get parts?

How are we supposed to fight a war if we can not even make engines, transmissions, brake pads, computer chips, circuit boards and wheel bearings? How are we supposed to build ships without steel mills?

In the movie Patton starring George C. Scott, Patton made a comment that he knew the Germans were finished. The Germans had been defeated because they were using horses and wagons instead of armored vehicles.

Think about that for a minute, Patton knew the Germans were defeated when the Germans could no longer manufacture or maintain their vehicles.

Since communist china makes a lot of parts for the U.S.auto industry, where does that leave us? Will china only have to fight half a war? 1 – stop shipments of parts to the U.S. 2- destroy the limited manufacturing capability we have left.

National security has been sacrificed on the alter of free trade

Free Trade The Great Destroyer

Kevin Felts political commentator

Think free trade is good thing? Think cheap products that were made in china are a good thing?

Think again.

After factories are closed and demolished, the value of the property goes down, this means less tax dollars brought in through school and property taxes. With less property and school taxes brought in from businesses, the tax burden is being shifted to homeowners.

Do you ever wonder why your property taxes are so high? Maybe its related to the businesses shutting down and moving to china. Someone has to pay for the schools, since John Doe and company laid off a few hundred workers and moved to china, “someone” has to pickup the bill.

Trucks bringing supplies to factories buy fuel and other items at local stores.

When the news says a factory is closing, the people do not realize the ripple effect that has through the community.

Free Trade Ripple Effect

Spiraling decline of the middle class

Kevin Felts blogger and survivalistThe middle class was disappearing in the 1990s, its even worse today. We were warned 20 years ago what free trade was going to do to the U.S. economy. What did the people do? They elected bill clinton who did a flip-flp on NAFTA. We should have elected Ross Perot. But the people in their infinite stupidity could not bring themselves to vote for any other party besides the big two.

A guy I used to talk to lost his job in the late 1990s. The company he was working for decided it was cheaper to have the parts made in mexico then in the Texas.

After losing his job, the government paid for the guy to go to college and learn a new trade.

The government loses tax revenue through lost property taxes, lost wages, lost taxes on the wages, lost social security taxes and then the government is going to pay for people to be retrained?

Property taxes are a big loss to the local community. When the school district loses part of its tax base, the lost revenue has to be made up somewhere else. When that factory closes and, the building is demolished, the property taxes might go from lets say $100,000 a year, to just a few hundred a year.

You think the tax office is going to tell the school they have to cut $100,000 from their budget? Nope. The lost tax revenue will be divided between everyone that is paying property and school taxes.

Company B looks at their property and school taxes. the owner of the company says “well, taxes went up again, time to move to china or mexico.

Then that lost tax base has to be divided between the people and companies in the community..

Beware the conspiracy theory trap

Conspiracy theories are like a disease, once they a foothold, they spread like wildfire. Unlike a virus, people have a choice whether they want to be infected with a conspiracy theory.

In the 1990s conspiracy theories spread like wildfire. But the gubberment supplied plenty of fuel for those fires. We had NAFTA, GATT, Waco an Ruby Ridge to help fan the flames of conspiracy theories.

When bill clinton did a flip flop on NAFTA, a lot of people saw that as a sign that big business had bought the U.S. government. Here we are 18 years after NAFTA was signed, and not much has changed. Big business still owns the U.S. government, the banks still get bailed out and wall street still gets bailed out from time to time.

As long as the 2 major parties stay in control, nothing is ever going to change, so there is no use in worrying about it.

What If Obama Is Reelected

The economy is still bouncing around. Some people say we are in a recovery, while others say we are heading into a second recession.

What is the worst thing that can happen?

I think the absolute worst thing that can happen is for obama to be reelected.

The second worst thing that can happen, is for mitt to be elected.

The US is on a road of self-destruction. Unless there is a total change of leadership, there is no getting off the path.

Even if a lot of new people are elected into congress, there will bee too many old dogs left in place to stop any real change from happening.

Is obama going to start a war with Iran

My opinion, two things that can save the election for obama:

1 – create a threat to the US so severe that it can not be ignored.

2 – eliminate the threat.

The threat I see obama creating is a nuclear Iran. Not that Iran is “really” developing nuclear weapons, its that obama might tell the US that Iran has nuclear weapons as part of a propaganda program.

Illegal immigration and welfare abuse

survivalistBefore we begin, I want to make it clear that everyone at some time or another may need a helping hand. People lose their jobs, run into financial problems and need some help.

However, the support system was never intended as a way of life.

Our society has cultivated four groups of people:

Group 1 – people who think they are entitled to welfare, or entitled to other social benefits.

After Hurricane Andrew passed through Florida, there were stories of people sitting in their front yards waiting for the government to clean up the mess. When asked why they were not cleaning up their own yard, the reply was something like “the government is supposed to take care of stuff like that”. It was reported that one family had been on welfare for 3 generations. The family had no idea what it was like to do something for yourself. In their minds, the government should do everything.

After hurricane katrina hit new orleans, I was required by my employer to go to the shelter and help out. In all, I think there were close to 200 people at the shelter – men, women and children.

What would war with Iran mean

I feel that Iran has positioned itself to be made a victim. Iran is supposed to be developing nuclear power plants for peaceful purposes.

Why would Iran make itself out to be a victim? To rally support, and have other nations come to its aid. Playing the victim is one of the first steps of jihad.

What I fear, if any nation strikes iran, china will jump in to protect its supply of oil.

Buy Your Supplies and Stack Them Deep

As I am sitting here watching the news, there is little voice in the back of my head telling me the US is going to hit rock bottom. Unless Ron Paul gets elected, things are just going to continue to get worse. GOD help us if someone like mit or rick perry gets elected, because they are not going to help anyone besides the bankers.

What I see happening is tensions between the US and china and tensions between the US and iran to continue to rise. Compounded with that, congress is talking about cutting the defense budget.

Let me see if I get this right, iran is continuing to enrich uranium, and the US congress wants to cut money from the defense? When your enemies are building nuclear weapons, shouldn’t we at the very least maintain our current rate of military spending?

There are several directions I see the US during 2012:

1. iran builds a nuclear bomb, gives the bomb to a small group of terrorist who sneak it a cross the US-mexico border. From there its just a matter of time before a major US city has a nuclear weapon detonated in it.

Its not like a group of terrorist would even have to sneak a nuclear bomb across the border. Why not hire a truck and drive the bomb across? If 10 – 20 million illegal immigrants can find their way into the US, surely its not “that” difficult to get weapons across.

Concerns for 2012

Please Rate This Article Just some ramblings of what I expect to see in 2012.  Take this with a truckload of salt: Cost of food With the drought in Texas from 2011, and people stockpiling food for the end of the world in 2012, I suspect we might see food shortages. If there are shortages, […]
