Good guy with a gun

Remember when The NRA said ‘Only Thing That Stops A Bad Guy With A Gun Is A Good Guy With A Gun’ and the left we bat crap crazy?

The shooting in Canada proves just that. A good guy with a gun stopped a bad guy with minimal loss of life.

What is the left doing? They pretty much ignored how to stop mass shootings. Some terrorist starts shooting, have a few armed good guys around to put a swift end to the rampage.

Which would you rather have:

7 – 9 minute response time.

7 – 9 second response time

It is evident the leftist news sites are not interested in reporting the news. All they wish to do is push an agenda.

Illegal immigration nail in the coffin for obama

This flood of illegal immigrants will be the final nail in the coffin for obama. Even the most rabid obama supports are starting the see his true agenda.  Obama will go down as the worst president in history. Instead of bringing the nation together, he drove a steel wedge through the heart of America.

Everyday working people are being thrown to the wolves while illegals are flooding this nation and overwhelming resources.

You think the economy is bad now? Just wait until those illegals are granted work visas. Those thousands of illegals crossing the border everyday will start looking for work. It is just a matter of time before human rights groups call on the U.S. government to start granting work visas. We do not expect the tens of thousands of illegals to sign up on welfare do we? If they are here they can work and support themselves, right?

OBAMACARE Money for Nothing

For those of you old enough to remember Money for nothing by Dire Straits, here is a version singing about spreading the wealth and obamacare.

In short, while people were busy watching TV the nation was stole from under our noses.

What are we going to tell our kids and grandkids when they ask why they have to buy healthcare when other first world nations get healthcare supplemented by taxation.

Future generations will think of us like we think about our great great grandparents. What the hell were they thinking when the income tax passed? What the hell were we thinking when mandatory buying health insurance was passed?

Please stop the open carry movement

Guys and gals, please stop with the open carry movement.  You are not doing anything but scaring people.  Law enforcement is called to check yall out, tensions get high, it is just a matter of time before someone gets shot.

Leave your long gun at home where they belong.

The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.  I understand that, trust me I understand.  Nobody is infringing on your right to bear arms.  There is a time and place for everything.  Carrying a rifle or shotgun into a store is not the time or place.

Every able-bodied male

The 2nd Amendment serves two purposes, protect the nation in times of war and to help with localized civil unrest.

Yes I know about watering the tree of liberty from time to time.  That is why we vote.  We water the tree of liberty with tears of defeat and not blood.

There is no reason to carry a rifle into a coffee shop.

There is no reason to carry a rifle into a shopping mall.

There is no reason to carry a rifle into a retail store.

There is no civil unrest.

There is no war on our streets.

If you want to shoot something, join the military.

Now for the love of GOD, please stop scaring people.

We need socialized higher education

What is the prohibitive factor slowing down progress? Besides greed.

Why do so few US citizens own their homes?

Why do we have widespread income inequality?

It all boils down to ease of access to higher education. Whether it is a skill trade such as welding and heavy equipment operation, or a professional such as being a doctor or lawyer, people need access to higher education.

A simple fix would be to socialize higher education. What the student pays would be based on their income and their parents income. For schools like Yale, Harvard, Brown, A&M,,, they would do a lottery system for applicants.

If a homeless person applies to Harvard and is drawn through the lottery, that person would attend school for free. That homeless person would be attending for free because the government would set the rates of the school.

No more profit drive higher education schools.

The patents registered to those schools would be licensed to students for free. This would ensure start-up companies have equal access to technology as already established companies.

Make professors and college workers federal employees. Their salary would be figured from the average income of their students. Professors would have a vested interested in how well the students are doing after they leave the school. If the students are not prepared for the real world, the professors pay will reflect that.

There would be no grants, no loans, no AA, no quotas,,, nothing but a balanced education for everyone.

No more rich parents buying their kids into the best colleges. Everyone will have a fair and equal access to higher education.

Without access to higher education the United States will continue to fall behind other first world nations.

For example, did you know more people in Romania, India, Russia and Poland own their homes than in the United States?

Romania leads the world in home ownership with 96.6%.

United States ranks 34th with only 65.2% owning their home.

SourceWikipedia List of countries by home ownership

Take a look at that list. More people in Bulgaria own their homes than in the United States. Somehow we are supposed to be a world leader? If we do not get more people into higher education, we are going to have the highest rate of homeless of any first world nation.

Our education system sucks.

A lot of it boils down to greed.

Lost spirit of freedom

During the battle of San Jacinto April 21, 1836 9 Texans died, compared to the 1,360 Mexicans who lost their lives. The fighting quickly went from rifles to hand-to-hand. As the Texans overwhelmed the Mexicans, the Mexicans fled into the swamps and marshes.

In the book The Raven: A Biography of Sam Houston, it is noted some of the Mexicans were screaming “Me no Alamo !” as Texans gave the Mexicans the same quarter that was shown at the Alamo and Goliad.

The battle only lasted about 18 minutes. But the slaughter continued for an hour or so after the main battle ended.

After Santa Anna was captured he was treated with the upmost respect by Sam Houston.

Sam was wounded during the battle and almost died from infection.

I feel that this kind of spirit is mostly dead. As Bain said in Dark Knight Rises, “victory has defeated you.” We have allowed ourselves to become weak and complacent.

Chances are the founding father would have revolted over an income tax, must less the federal reserve, gun control and various excessive taxation.

Americans have grown fat and lazy. We no longer care about freedom, but instead are content in our subjugation.

Remember the Boston Tea Party we learned about in school? How would the founding father have felt about all the taxes we have to pay now?

Property tax
School tax
Income tax
Fuel tax
Sales tax
Inheritance tax
And now we have to buy health insurance or pay a fine.

We need to pause for a minute and ask ourselves what this nation is coming to.

I George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams and Sam Houston were alive today, would they be happy with the way the nation turned out?

I suspect that yes, they would be happy about a lot of stuff. Jefferson was a proponent of education. Having a free public school system would probably make him very proud.

On the other hand, the amount of taxation we live under would have pissed the founding fathers off.

How is our current state any different than the serfdom in medieval Europe?

You either pay a fee to the lord (in this case the government) or you are kicked off the property. The concept of true property ownership is a thing of the past. The government has told us what we must pay every year to keep our property and to stay out of prison. We are supposed to call that freedom?

Where are the leaders like Sam Houston? Not as in armed revolt, but as in standing up to the government?

I think a lot of it boils down to the voters.

After the bank bailout my local federal representative was only opposed by a libertarian. Did the people of southeast Texas vote Kevin Brady out of office? Nope. Even though he voted for the bank bailout the people returned him to office.

I feel the people have been in a vicious cycle for the past 100+ years of returning people to office over and over.

We say we want change in Washington, but the same people are voted back in year after year. When someone steps forward and says they will bring about real change, such as the Libertarian Party, the people turn their back.

How are the people supposed to change the course of government when the same elected officials are returned to office decade after decade?

Random thoughts March 21 2014

This post started off about Russian President Putin and how much of a failed leader our own president is.  Then I got off on a tangent about free trade and jobs.  The end result was just some kind of random thought article.

While looking for news on the Crimea situation I came across an article on the Wall Street Journal – Warnings From the Ukraine Crisis.

I do not fully agree with the author, but I do agree with a lot of what she says.  One comment should ring a rang a wake up call for the United States,

We have been a nation divided for a long time. Whether the division was by race, sex, sexual preference, religion, political party,,, we have been and will continue to be a nation divided.

Since the late 1960s and 1970s we have become more divided with each passing decade. This division shows in the quality of our elected officials.

Beaumont Texas man arrested for carrying rifle

KBMT news is reporting Beaumont police arrested a man for lawfully carrying a rifle. The incident happening in Parkdale Mall in Beaumont Texas.  It is reported that he has a store in the mall where he sells firearm accessories, but no actual firearms are sold there.  He was allowed to have the rifle at the store for demonstration purposes.  While walking to the store, with the AR-15 slung over his back, several people called the police.  The police responded and arrested the man.

I never thought I would see the day when a police force in southeast Texas did not support gun rights.  The article says the man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Chances are the guy will be charged under Section 42.01 of the Texas Penal Code, which states,

Sec. 42.01. DISORDERLY CONDUCT. (8) displays a firearm or other deadly weapon in a public place in a manner calculated to alarm;

Parents of daughters likely to vote republican

There is an article on yahoo shine about why parents of daughters are more likely to vote Republican than to vote democrat.

While the article is “kind of” insightful, I think it misses the mark.  Rather than focusing on core Republican values, the article goes off into left field talking about sex.

Sex is a small part of the issue.  The larger issue at hand is this thing called “responsibility.”

The article states,

Parents of daughters, it seems, have an interest in reducing male promiscuity.

Personally, I think male promiscuity has little to do with the issue.  The larger issue here is taking responsibility for your actions.

Between promiscuity and taking responsibility for your actions, I feel taking responsibility reflects a larger percentage of the Republican party.  Family values, taking responsibility for the children you bring into the world, holding a job,,,, are all part of the Republican party stands for.

The coming healthcare bubble

This affordable healthcare act is just the tip of an iceberg. The rest of the iceberg has been ignored for years, maybe even decades.

As far back as I can remember my health insurance premiums have gone up every year. Even has my wages stagnated for 20 years my health insurance has gone up.

When I was working for Kingwood cablevision I would get the yearly review around August, and the usual BS excuse that all the company could afford was a 2% raise. But at the same time the stockholders would get a nice dividend. During my review I told my supervisor that the raise would not cover the rise in health insurance premiums. My supervisor asked how I knew our healthcare premiums were going up? I told him they go up every January.

Freedom of speech in private places

This council woman in San Antonio made some comments in a private area, to a select few people. Someone recorded the comments, then the comments were released to the news media.

There were some protest, and she has been asked to resign her position.

Then there are the Paula Deen comments about black people.

Why do certain groups feel the need to protest, or get angry, when it comes out what someone said in privacy.

If we are not free to express ourselves in private areas, or to friends, then where can we express ourselves at?

I feel that rather than supporting our rights, special interest groups are acting like a form of thought police. It no longer matters where you say something, or think something, or believe something. If the wrong people find out your beliefs, they are going to try and embarrass you.

It seems to me that only certain groups are allowed to protest.

Regardless if we agree or disagree with what is said, we should at least support the persons right to speak in privacy.

A mans home is his castle.  If I can not speak frankly and honestly in my castle, then freedom of speech is dead.

Clown Who Wore an Obama Mask

For those of you who have been sleeping under a rock may not know, a clown in the Missouri State Fair wore an Obama mask during the performance.

Here is the funny part, people are actually upset about it. The Missouri chapter of the NAACP has called for a federal investigation into a rodeo clown.

What good is our right to political speech if we do not use it?  If mocking the president is not protected speech, then what is?

I personally applaud the clown.  not only do I applaud him, I wish more people would mock our elected officials.

Our ability to speak out against the government is one thing that sets us apart from the rest of the world.  If this had happened in China, the clown would probably be in prison.

The founding fathers of this great nation wanted to make sure we could mock the government.

A single clown has drawn more attention then 10,000 protestors in Washington D.C.

If the clown had wore a Bush, Regan, or Nixon mask, nobody would have cared.

The Question That Needs To Be Asked

I would like to ask the readers of this blog a question, do you feel the United States is headed towards an armed rebellion?

Ae we headed towards an armed rebellion?

I often wonder how much more the middle class can take before something breaks?

How many jobs have to go to China?

How many taxes can the government levy?

How many people have to go on welfare?

How many illegal immigrants have to be allowed in the nation?

How many people have to die in this so called “war on terror?”

What has to happen before the people say enough is enough?

If the people are not even willing to vote the two major parties out of office, what makes us think there will be an armed rebellion?

Justification For Owning An AR-15

Ever since the Sandy Hook shooting gun owners have been having to justify their reasons for owning an AR-15.  Personally, I think the only reason that needs to be given is “because I want one.”  I feel I should not have to “justify” my choices in which firearms I wish to own.  As a law abiding citizen there is no chance my AR is going to be used in a crime.  And as a law abiding citizen   I seen no reason to explain myself to anyone.Kevin Felts, blogger and survivalist

Free men do not explain themselves, we do as we wish when we wish.

Servants, slaves and criminals explain themselves.

With that being said, I would like to provide my opinion as to why people own an AR-15.  I am in no way justifying my ownership of an AR-15, simply because rights do not have to be justified.  I am giving reasons why I choose to own an AR-15.

The AR-15 is cool – It is awesome looking, it feels good in my hand.  Handling an AR is like patting my wife on her butt, it provides me with a sense of manly satisfaction.

Did You Support The Expanded Background Check

Simple question, did you support the expanded background check?

People claim close to 80% of the general population supported the bill. So I would like to know what this community thought about it.

If you wish to discuss the expanded background check, post your comments in this forum thread.  Or, post your comments in the comment section of this post.
