The next housing collapse
Are you ready for the next housing collapse? For several years house flippers and greedy real estate agents have driven up home prices to the point where the average working person can no longer afford to buy. With home sales and prices hitting rock bottom, when sales and prices start to go back up, there are going to be hordes of house flippers itching to get back to “business as usual.”
What I look for – as the home prices start to go back up, house flippers are going to jump in and will try to drive the market up even more. The average wage earner will not be able to afford a house, so prices will have to take a nose dive again.
This cycle will continue until people stop treating homes as a get-rich-quick scheme, and start treating them as a home – a place to raise a family.
Here is an easy test to know if your living in a bloated housing market.
What is the average home price in your area?
What is the average wage of a police officer or a teacher in your area?
If a police officer or teacher were going to buy a house in your area, could they pay the house note with 1 week of their wage? Or will it take the entire monthly wage?
In other words, if a police officer or teacher in your area makes $600 a week, their monthly house note should not be more then $550 – $600.
But instead of using a little logic – like not stretching your finances too thin – people put their financial future at risk by going into massive debt.
For married couples – could one or the other person pay all of the bills? If one person loses their job, will the family be driven into financial ruin?
Lets stop treating houses as a commodity, and start treating them as a home.
10 books written by Presidents
Last night I received an email from congress.org – I subscribe to their emails to keep up-to-date on issues. But after reading their list of 10 books written by presidents – I might have to unsubscribe.
Here is the list congress.org recommended:
1. “Personal Memoirs of Ulysses S. Grant”
2. “The Naval War of 1812″ by Theodore Roosevelt
3. “Dreams From My Father” by Barack Obama
4. “My Life” by Bill Clinton
5. “Beyond Peace” by Richard Nixon
6. “Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid” by Jimmy Carter
7. “The Ordeal of Woodrow Wilson” by Herbert Hoover
8. “Congressional Government” by Woodrow Wilson
9. “A World Transformed” by George H.W. Bush and Brent Scowcroft
10. “The Autiobiography of Calvin Coolidge”
All but 1 – Ulysses S. Grant – are 20th century Presidents. Where are the books written by Monroe, Madison, Jefferson, Franklin, Washington,,,,, people that saw first hand what tyranny was like.
I could really care less about Herbert Hoover – who was President when the great depression started. He really proved his leadership skills when the nation needed him – so “why” would I want to read anything by Hoover?
Bill Clinton signed the North American Free Trade Agreement, which shipped jobs to low wage factories in Mexico. I do not care to read a single word written by Clinton.
If that is the best list they can come up with, maybe they need to spend more time in the library. I’am pretty sure that the Federalist Papers would be a more interesting read then anything on the above list.
The only 2 Presidents that showed any type of leadership skills were Ulysses S. Grant and Theodore Roosevelt. Now their books might be of interest.
Instead of books talking about freedom and fighting tyranny, we have books by presidents that signed free trade agreements, (which shipped millions of jobs overseas) and presidents that have increased our debt to the Federal Reserve.
In other words, we have books by presidents that promote tyranny, instead of how to fight tyranny.
Why people can not form their own opinion
While going to school, you probably heard something like – Please do not interrupt the class, if you continue to do so, you will be sent to the office.
“If” we have enough time at the end of class you may voice your opinion at that time – but you will have to raise your hand and wait to be called on.
If we do not have enough time today, you may be able to ask your question of voice your opinion tomorrow. But I doubt we will have enough time tomorrow, because we have a lot of material to cover.
On second thought, maybe its best that you keep your opinion to yourself and let the teacher teach the class.

School is much more then a place to learn, its where childrens minds go to die a slow painful death.
People learn in 2 different ways:
Doing – actual hands on. These are your mechanics, your welders, heavy equipment operators,,, people that do physical labor.
Sitting – take listen and learn. These are your engineers, your lawyers,,, people who take a concept and turn it into something.
Most schools only cater to kids that learn by listening. The kids that learn by doing are left out in the cold. Instead of addressing “why” a child is acting up in school, the teachers, parents and doctors put the kids on medicines. The child is then transformed into a zombie that can sit still and listen to the boring teacher.
And we have to wonder why we have such a high rate of high school drop outs?
When we grow, we learn what is accepted and what is not accepted. And we accept that without question.
Such as – you vote Democrat or Republican. People who vote third party are throwing their votes away. Very few people can “think outside the box” and change the way they vote.
If people could “really” think outside the box, the USA would not be in the situation its in right now. Because the people would be voting other political parties into office. But instead, we are stuck in this Democrat or Republican rut.
Ask yourself, why do you vote the way that you do? Why do you listen to the music that you do? Do you “really” like the types of music that is popular today? Or do you listen to the music because the radio stations and TV told you the music is good, and you should listen to it?
What about food, do you ask yourself “why that can of beans has to have so much salt in it?”
Why dont fast food places offer low calorie drink options? Instead, we have flavored sugar water.
If you want to form your own opinion on something – accept nothing and question everything.
If someone can not change the way they vote, change the types of music they listen to, dress differently them other people, or even cut their hair differently, how can they be expected them to “think” for themselves.
When you accept everything without question, your nothing more then a zombie. A zombie that goes to work, pays their bills, votes the same people into office every year,,,, and all without question.
Not able to prepare for a disaster
Over the past couple of decades there has been a disturbing trend that is becoming more and more visible. And that is families that are not able to prepare for a disaster. Its not because they do not want to, its because most people can not afford to purchase the basic essentials.
In the 1970s, 1980s and even into the 1990s most families could scrap by on one income. Starting in the 1990s – and the introduction of massive free trade – million of US jobs have been shipped overseas in favor of cheap labor. Unemployment has gone up, cost of housing, fuel and everything else has gone up. despite promises that free trade would drive prices down (that was a lie). So what can a family do?
The mindset of radical survivalist
The 1970s and the 1980s were interesting times for survivalist. The threat of nuclear war with Russia was a clear and present danger. Russia was in Afghanistan getting its butt kicked by a bunch of nomads. Duck and cover public service announcements were broadcast on TV. Soldier of Fortune magazine and American Survival Guide was the reading material of the day. But it was in the 1990s and beyond when things really got “interesting.”
The 1980s
When I was in high school (1982 – 1986), the dad of one of my friends seemed a little “radical” to say the least. If not radical, maybe just very, very paranoid. This was before I had very much knowledge or experience in stuff like the New World Order (NWO) and conspiracy theories.
This happened about 23 years ago, but I am going to try and tell the story the best that my memory serves me.
The father of my buddy had busted holes in the walls of the house, then stuck a rifle into the hole. He said if the feds ever come to get him, he wanted a firearm within reach. So there was a gun in the wall of every room. Even while sitting on the toilet there was a firearm within reach.
The dad stayed armed just about all the time with a Colt 1911 45 ACP. There were a couple of times where the dad was seen in town with the pistol. One time he was at a local grocery store when a clerk saw the pistol in his pocket – the clerk called the police. When the police approached the man, the son asked the officer if they could talk in private. The son told the police that his dad was a little “off” – and he was. The police officer was nice enough not to arrest the man, but made him leave the store.
Then there was the stories of the FBI watching his house, bugging his telephone, following him,,,,,,.
My buddies dad ran a small home based business and repaired small engines, such as lawn mowers and boat motors. I think this had something to do with making below a certain amount so he did not have to pay income taxes.
The family lived a very frugal lifestyle, ate a lot of cheap food (such as peanut butter), wore clothes that had holes in them, did not go to town very often. If memory serves me right, most of their food was out of store bought cans. This was so when the power was cut off very little food would spoil. I remember the family eating a lot of peanut butter and honey.
One story the dad told me went something like this – years ago he was away from home working on a construction job. Instead of renting an apartment or hotel room, he slept under his car. There just happened to be a panther living in the area. So the dad started putting food out for that panther and slowly tamed it.
About 3 years ago – 2005, 2006 or 2007 – I saw the dad at a local grocery store. He looked kinda rough and gave the appearance of being homeless. His hair was in a tangled mess, his clothes were dirty looking and he had a strange, almost lost look in his eyes. He is not homeless as I know where he lives and I see his car parked there on a regular basis. I did not speak to him, maybe I should have, maybe I am glad I didn’t.
I just can not imagine being so paranoid, as to believe that the government is watching everything that I do. It seemed that my buddies dad was obsessed that the FBI (or someone else) was watching every move he made.
North Korea pushes world to the brink of war
It seems that someone hit the rewind button, and is replaying 1939 all over again. This time its Kim Jong instead of Hitler.
How long will the world have to wait before something is done about this madman? Will China support this puppet that is acting like a master? How long will Japan tolerate North Korea acting like a bully?
Japan should have the right to defend itself. Regardless of what happened in World War II, it is ever nations right to defend itself.
If the United Nations strikes at North Korea, where will China stand? Since the US Congress has passed all of those free trade treaties, the USA no longer has the ability to fight a large scale war. China on the other hand has one of the largest manufacturing bases in the world – given to them by the by US based companies. Companies like Intel, AT&T have given China the ability to fight a world war, while robbing the USA of our ability to fight – and all for cheap labor.
If the United Nations does strike against North Korea, and China stands with Kim Jong, what is the world to do? China, with is massive standing army, huge manufacturing base, and an almost unlimited workforce is one of the largest threats to world peace since Adolf Hitler. Its not North Korea that we should be worried about, its the pitbull guard dog living in the backyard.
Another option, instead of the UN taking action, just give Japan back its military. Japan is a sleeping giant waiting for its time to awake.
Libertarian Party
Now that the nation is slipping into an even deeper depression, the voters might be wondering if they made a mistake. If you voted for the Republicans or Democrats, you made a mistake.
If you want real change. And not the Obama type of change, then its time to cast your vote for the Libertarian Party.
Keep in mind, it took both parties to pass the income tax. And decades later citizens are asking their congress person to do something about this tax on the poor and middle class. And to no surprise, nothing is done.
It took both parties to pass the bailouts of the big banks. Where a lot of the money went to bonuses.
It is taking both parties to make sure that the banks keep control of the money of this nation.
It has taken both parties to keep free trade going between china and the USA.
If you want real change, vote for someone besides the two major bloated parties.
Political party games
The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is sending out emails entitled “End the Pelosi Recession.” The first sentence of the email goes like this:
Dear NRCC supporter,
House Republicans have pledged to stop to the “Pelosi Recession” caused by a bloated Democratic budget that spends too much, taxes too much and borrows too much.
First thing right off the bat, I am NOT a supporter of the Republican party, I vote straight line Libertarian Party.
What the letter does not mention, is that it takes both parties to pass a bill. When the Republican has control of congress, there is usually a Democrat President. This is supposed to cause a balance in government. But does not.
The fact is, the Republican and Democratic parties are exactly the same. Even though one party says one thing, and the other party says something else – the end results are the same.
It past time for the American people to wake up, and take responsibility for what they have caused. By blindly following a party the voters have allowed corrupt lawmakers to stay in office.
Place the blame where it is supposed to go. On the shoulders of the voters. If you want “real” change, and not the Obama type of change, then its time to vote for a party besides the republicans or democrats.
Are you ready for the depression?
The depression is just around the corner, are you and your family ready? The news reporters are trying not to use the word “depression”, probably out of fear of the panic that will follow.
IMF predicts a global recession
The banking system, along with the US State and Federal governments have been the number one cause of this problem.
The banks started writing flexible mortgage rate loans – knowing that people would not be able to pay the notes. But for some reason the people just played along with the scams. Untold millions of families have lost their homes and driven into bankruptcy because of the greed of bankers. The blame can not be placed solely on the bankers – the people HAVE to take part of the blame.
The State and Federal government have allowed millions of US jobs to be shipped over seas. This is only at the benefit of the companies that are using cheap labor. Since millions of people are out of work, less money is spent, in turn less tax dollars are brought in.
There is nothing “free” about “free trade” – someone pays the price.
The State and Federal government has also continued to take care of millions of illegal immigrants. Untold millions of dollars are spent on the health and welfare of trespassers, when we can not even take care of our own.
A few weeks ago news was coming out of California that the sate was going to be hit with a money shortage. The first thing that came to mind was – “how much money could be saved by taking the illegals off the social services programs?” An illegal immigrant has no right to anything, expect to be arrested and sent back home.
Every 3 months Exxon reports record profits, and then the people wonder why gas and food is so expensive.
Human stupidity and greed have prevailed, and as a result, the depression is right around the corner.
Its time to get the plans in order.
Trained civil obedience
From the time a child starts school they are trained in civil obedience. The teachers tell the children to “sit down and shut up!” – “No Talking!” – “This is the way it is” – “Do not question authority”,,, and the list goes on and on. This is also true with political education.
Instead of teaching “real government”, schools teach the children that there is a 2 party political system. That the children must vote for one of the two major parties.
When the children are trained from an early age to “obey” – something is wrong.
Independent thought is discouraged and frowned upon.
Children are taught to “obey” and not question authority.
There is several words that describe blind obedience, – brain washing and slavery are the first two that come to mind.
So, you teachers out there, why dont you “teach” our children. Teach them to “think” instead of to “obey”.
If this nation wants real political change its going to require 2 things:
1. Real freedom of the press
2. An educated voting populace.
Children that are taught to “sit down, shut up and obey” can not think for themselves when they grow up. If people can not think for themselves, they turn into Obama Zombies.
