Please stop the open carry movement

Guys and gals, please stop with the open carry movement.  You are not doing anything but scaring people.  Law enforcement is called to check yall out, tensions get high, it is just a matter of time before someone gets shot.

Leave your long gun at home where they belong.

The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.  I understand that, trust me I understand.  Nobody is infringing on your right to bear arms.  There is a time and place for everything.  Carrying a rifle or shotgun into a store is not the time or place.

Every able-bodied male

The 2nd Amendment serves two purposes, protect the nation in times of war and to help with localized civil unrest.

Yes I know about watering the tree of liberty from time to time.  That is why we vote.  We water the tree of liberty with tears of defeat and not blood.

There is no reason to carry a rifle into a coffee shop.

There is no reason to carry a rifle into a shopping mall.

There is no reason to carry a rifle into a retail store.

There is no civil unrest.

There is no war on our streets.

If you want to shoot something, join the military.

Now for the love of GOD, please stop scaring people.

“……Nobody is infringing on your right to bear arms…..”

While I agree with you that the open carrying of long arms is not helping those wishing to make of statement of the infringement of 2A, I would beg to differ with the aforementioned statement, as evidenced by its daily acknowledgment within the press, political speeches, the NRA, GOA, etc.

  • Thank you.

Open carry would be sweet in Philadelphia it’s just soo much more comfortable to carry owb with a full size pistol. I never carry less than a full size it’s annoying that you have to hide it, everywhere else in PA you can open carry. As far as walking into stores with a rifle that’s just asking to get your face shot off. If I see someone in the grocery store with an AK I’m not going to ask why he has it I’m going to think he intends to use it. I am an NRA guy, avid collector, hunter, and 3 gun competitor. In Katrina or the more recent MO riots I would have my trusty Scar17 in my hands defending my business/home and loved ones. A rifle will make people uncomfortable myself included unless I know the guy holding it or its LEO I would treat that person as a threat. Let’s not give the public any ammunition to give us shit about our way of life or let them actually be right about rednecks being dumb asses with guns.
