Kevin Felts, blogger and survivalistThis post is for the sake of prosperity, and for historical purposes. I feel that it is important to document what happened politically and in the shooting sports industry shortly after the Sandy Hook school shooting.

December 14, 2012 – Adam Peter Lanza fatally shot his mother, Nancy Lanza, and Stole 2 pistols and a Bushmaster AR-15 rifle. Adam Peter Lanza then drove to Newtown, Connecticut where he processed to enter the Sandy Hook Elementary School. After entering the school, Adam killed 26 people. The victims included twenty children and six adult staff members.

As emergency responders entered the building Adam killed himself.

The nation is shocked that anyone could inflict so much violence on children.

The news focuses on Cerberus Capital Management, Freedom Group and Bushmaster. There is no mention that Freedom Group also owns Remington, Marlin and several other brandnames.

I called a local Academy sports and outdoors store to inquire how many AR-15 rifles they had sold in the past few days.  The sore manager refused to answer questions and asked me to call the corporate office.  Since this is a small blog, I doubt academy will answer any questions, so I did not bother calling corporate.

Cheaper Than Dirt sends out email saying ” Cheaper Than Dirt! will Resume Online Firearm Sales Pending Policy Changes”

Cheaper Than Dirt! recently announced that it was temporarily suspending online sales of firearms pending a review of its order processing and procedures. Well-known for its ability to process and ship orders within 24 hours, online sales have skyrocketed to a point where it may take up to 72 hours for firearms and other items to ship.

“In light of recent events, we believe it is prudent to review our policies and procedures to ensure we can continue to provide the products and firearms our customers demand,” said Chief Operations Officer Roberta Wilson. “We will resume online sales once we update our process and continue as we have always done by shipping firearms only to FFL dealers.”

Ms. Wilson closed with, “As a long-time supporter of the Second Amendment, we will continue to serve the needs of the firearms community while ensuring our unsurpassed level of quality and customer service.”
