On Sunday we celebrated 2 birthdays -  my sons and my step sons.  The day started off with firing the pit up around 8:00am, then my wife and I went to the local wal-mart to pick up a few things.  Korey (my son) wanted an ice cream cake, so my wife and I picked that up this morning.   For Scotty (my step son), my wife and I picked up a couple of DVDs and we got breakfast at mcdonalds.  We also picked up a new 5 foot folding plastic table.  When we have a birthday party, usually about 15 people show up, sometimes upwards to 50 people.  So we need as much outdoor table space as possible.

When we got got back from wal-mart, the baby back ribs were put on, that was around 9:30am.  Then it was time to play a little Left 4 Dead 2.  Nothing is more relaxing then blasting away at zombies.  The night before, the ribs were sliced into sections, with each slice containing 2 ribs and seasoned overnight.

Around 10:30am the chicken legs were put on the grill.  My pit has an upper and lower rack, the chicken legs were put on the upper rack so they will cook a little faster.  Sometime around 11:00am the pork chops were put on.

Everyone started showing up around noon, we started eating around 12:30 – 12:45 or so.  I got a section of ribs,  a piece of pork chop, some beans, and some chips.  For drinks we had tea.

After we finished eating, Korey and Scotty opened their gifts.  Then we cut the cake and cookie.

My daughter, my son and I played frisbee for a little while, it was nice spending some quality time with the family.
